It seems that MTC has fixed it and is receiving the activating SMS from Apple's UK server ... Hope Alfa will follow ...

Dear EddieEC, would you please tell me what you exactly did to make FaceTime work with your MTC sim.
I bought an MTC prepaid card and tried to activate FaceTime but it didn't work.
Is there any MTC settings I should add? ... Thx

Mr. iPhone, you should wait for a couple of minutes for it to activate, if it does not activate, reset settings (check that sms and mms are active by sending a test to another phone).

I'm with Alfa, you need to call MTC on 111 they'll send you the settings to your email

Dear Mojo and EddieEC, it worked at last ... I just reset the network settings and waited for 2 minutes or so then made a phone call and hey the FaceTime logo just appeared instead of the "pause" icon ... Now we can pressure Alfa with facts ...

I second that, facetime works properly when i am using my MTC number on my iphone, when put back the alfa sim card it displays "waiting for activation"...cant stand alfa's lousy service anymore, wish we were allowed to move our number to MTC...

i just hang up with Alfa customer care, who informed me that the services required for facetime activation (he didnt specify what are these services) are not support by Alfa network, and seeing how they operate i don't think it will ever be.

Well the customer care I just hung up with kept on blabbing that the problem is from my phone and not Alfa!!!! even when I told her that MTC is activating on my phone! I am seriously considering shifting both my line and my wife's to MTC.

Well, having a factory unlocked iPhone 4 and jailbroken i can assure you that facetime is not working with alfa, even with the use of mitimne with the jailbroken 4.
will test tomorrow with FTML.

So I have an iphone 4 too, but I'm with stupid Alfa and I want facetime to work! :(
Any progress with that so far? Theres a way to make it work I think, but you have to jailbreak it and I don't want to do that.
Any news about Alfa?
