@kassem, yes there is a solution, a friend of mine told me about today and he gave me the needed software and it works like a charm on his N97 mini, I have an N97 mini too. I will install everything and try it first, then I will reply to this thread or open a new one with instructions as soon as possible. Have a good day :)

Anything for N900?
And me :PAj_BlaZ wrotei don't think anyone could answer this question except me :p ....
AndNav2 from http://www.andnav.org/. This is a FREE open source solution where all you to do is just register ur email to use it.
You need to make your own map tiles using a free tool called OSMMapTilePackager http://wiki.andnav.org/index.php/OSMMapTilePackager
I can confirm that this solution will work with Android1.6 Vanilla UI (stock) as i use it every year on my holidays in lebanon using my HTC Dream (My last use of it was last year). I haven't tested this with the SE xperia x10.

Why the hell Lebanon is not appearing in list?!Aj_BlaZ wrotei don't think anyone could answer this question except me :p , you need :

All countries (Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates) are appearing and working.
All the countries have map files like COUNTRY_ENG.map except for Lebanon, it is Lebanon_FRE.map
I'm on Andoid 2.1 but I don't think this is the issue.

Same story here, i can find POI that are in lebanon, i can read area names in Lebanon when i click on Show On Map, but Lebanon is not in the country list, nor can i search city names in lebanon.
This sucks, did any of you guys find a solution?

Navigon is a good offline GPS app for Android. However, they still haven't released a version compatible with Gingerbread. So in case you have upgraded from Froyo2.2 to Gingerbread2.3 (or considering it), just keep in mind that you wouldn't be able to use Navigon YET!

any update on Navigon for Gingerbread2.3 ?
I'm using Locus Free. You can download directly from your phone many kinds of map from free providers. The whole detailed map of Lebanon is approximately 1 Gb big. But you can also download the area you need only.

But it lacks some features such as routing, it also need alot of memory...

@arthas: i have navitel and have the lebanese map for year 2010 which has alot of mistakes :s what map version do you have?
I guess its 2010 because it does have mistakes. But it's still worth having, I tested it for a couple of places, and it was good enough.
Im using a modded google maps version, and it works great with navigation also
