Please if anyone has any information about this modem please tell me, I need to know how does it work like is it plugged in the electricity and gives internet like a router with no need for an ethernet or does it need a router to send internet? And I need to know if it has high ping, bad for gaming, or if it really gives 512kb speed or not... So if anyone bought it or heard about it please tell me because I'm thinking of buying it.
And thank you.
No it doesint need anything like an extra modem, its completely wireless (its wimax).
I dont know how the pings are for gaming though.
like any other wireless provider, im almost certain it wont give you low ping, neitheir will 3g nor edge. is there any specific reason you want to play games through wimax and not through DSL? because it would be better if you used DSL for low ping.
respecting how this modem works, they have two models, one uses usb and its more of a one person device, and the second one says to be a desktop modem, I don't really know if this serves multiple connections, but anyways using your 512kb plan on more than one computer will also ruin your ping while gaming?

one more thing, what games would you usually play? on what platform
I read on the internet that it's a 4g modem, and I want it because I find the wireless modems give real speeds like the mobi all day even after unlimited night service, so I wanted to try a compeletly new internet device. The speed of my dsl isn't good at night and most of my playtime is after 11 p.m so I chose the iFly which is I think would give a good speed, and low ping.
And yeah i forgot I play mw2, uncharted 2 online on the ps3.
i have the wirelessbits service which is somehow similar. Online gaming on ps3 is completly fine i have pings as low as 150ms usually. on peak time pings suck though.

Can you please tell me more about the wirelessbits thing like what isp? is it like dsl or mobi?....
If I am not mistaken gamer4life you have right now IDM adsl right ?
So if you get IFly you would be only changing the way you connect to your ISP and I doubt it will make any difference.
Yes I have idm but won't the ifly be better then the dsl since it's 4g and NEW and WIMAX technology? or would it suck and give high ping and low speed?

Its just like mobi. my ISP is cyberia.
None of you all guys have ever heard anything about the ifly internet!!!??

WiMAX, Mobi, Wigo and Pesco all provide the same lag-full and lousy connections in Lebanon. Since we don't have sufficient international bandwidth and lousy copper wire infrastructure, all of these connections will provide the same thing: shitty connections especially for online games.

The only difference between them is their area of coverage. They're just fancy names for the same thing.

Contact them here.
@elchebib
in terms of pings pesco is good, i get 150ms on some cod servers. But at peak times pings are horrible.
Pings in mobi and pesco are almost the same as the pings in DSL here.

Really? The best that I've got in terms of ping with Pesco is 450 ms. What's your ISP and where are you located?
I contacted them before and they told me that the speed is better then the dsl so it's good for gaming and when i asked him about the ping he told me that he doesn't know and I need to try it to know. I have the mobi and dsl, but my purpose is to sell the mobi because although it has acceptable ping and very high speed all day but suddenly it stops for 1-2 sec then goes up to 1mb speed, which is very bad for gaming, so does the ifly provide a better service or is it just the same? and remember that the ifly has many antennas, and it's 4g.

Dude stop wasting your time, the people you talked to in IDM are sales representatives, do you know what the word sales representative means ? it means that his job is to sell, sell and Sell .... they have some kind of marketing degree and their job is to sell as much as they can, no wonder this idiot told you that the speed is better, and he doesn't know about the Ping because he doesn't know what the word ping means, If I were you I wont count on what he told me.
As I told you if you are switching from DSL yo Ifly you are only changing the way you are connecting to your ISP, their bandwidth is the same their peak times are the same ....
Do you want to check the connectivity between you and your ISP ?

I am with IDM and in my case I get an average of 30-40 ms delay between me (Beirut) and IDM (Beirut - Jisr el Bacha).
In your case you should get something almost similar, slightly lower or slightly higher, the lag is caused by our ISPs backbones and it is not a local lag. (PS: some Central offices have a local lag but they are few).
If you have some extra money donate to the needy people ;)
