Why should there be a Hummus nation in the first place?

just to clarify a thing, the people in israel who are making this are arab israelis, so basically palestinians. These people's history in the region and their culinary history goes just as far as ours (talking specifically about arab israelis).
Now yeah, what's bad is that even if it's an arab village in israel that wins it will be mediatised as israeli, but it's totally understandable that these specific people (arab israelis) would consider hummus as a dish from their culture.
Anyways, if we want hummus to be officially a lebanese dish that can only be made in lebanon to be labeled as hummus (like champagne or feta cheese), it's not a guiness record that will achieve it.
