again the largest mass of hummus ever created with a whopping weight of
10,452 Kg !

Notice the yellow robotic Arm holding the flag ....

Hummus From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This part is under "Controversy" section:

In October 2008 the Association of Lebanese Industrialists petitioned to the Lebanese ministry of Economy to request protected status from the European Commission for hummus as a uniquely Lebanese food, similar to the Protected Geographical Status rights held over regional food items by various European Union countries. Fadi Abboud (president of the Lebanese Industrialists Association), stated that "Israelis have usurped several Lebanese and oriental products". As a response, food critic Janna Gur wrote: "The success of certain brands of Israeli hummus abroad may have been what brought about Abboud's anger", leading him to claim that Israel has been "stealing" their country's national dishes, like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh and baba ghanouj. Shooky Galili (an Israeli journalist specialising in food who writes a blog dedicated to hummus), claimed in reply that “Food doesn’t belong to the country that invented it, but the people who love it”.

Someone should consider updating the Wikipedia page soon.
I'm always imagining a 10 Tons Missile warhead smashing in the middle of our mighty 10 Ton Hummus Plate.

Let's do the math: 10 Ton x 10 Tons = 100 Tons of Hummus Explosion.
That would end up life in israel by Hummustication.
Lebgeeks will now be reported to CIA, FBI and U.N. for threatening israel of Hummustication.

Edit: 'i'srael instead of Israel, for some unknown reasons Jad refused to tell !
Until today that I knew this event was scheduled for this weekend, I thought it was for next week. The place is near my house so I can get there by just walking a bit, bass today for the Falafel part I don't have time at all. In case I am able to manage to go there I will post some pictures. And the robotic arm is really awesome, Jad should have been there to see it, I am sorry Jad I should have known before about the date so we could manage to go there.
Hummus warheads ! lethal but Delicious ! . Don't worry about it Ayman :) i was surprised as well that it was done yesterday ! , not much of publication was done regarding the date , they failed that part .
Food doesn’t belong to the country that invented it, but the people who love it

Well they got a point, if you dont love something then you should give it up to someone who does. But that doesnt make hummus an Isreali dish.
We made and ate hummus before even israel was "made" .

They may not really love it, they just want to claim that hummus and falafel is theirs just to give themselves some cultural background and to say for the countries of the world that they do also have an old "culture" just like all the other countries in the region and that they have history in this region, and this itself is part of the elements that help them stay and expand in the lands they have their hands on today, they just want the people of the world to understand that this is their land and culture since the dawn of history.

Plus, sure they would love to see us give up hummus and falafel so that they can claim it and put it on their menu as part of their culture. And should not be surprised that there may be global plans against our country to try to change the taste and bindings of the Lebanese people to their real culture and silently deviate us away from it. In the end, we would end up following a foreign "modern" culture including the taste of food, and they would steal it from us. It is good that there some people who still care about out national foods and their belongingness.

Although IMO such an event is <arabic>sakhifi</arabic> and there are much more important stuff to look towards to as Lebanese people but still they are too, so we have no choice but to retaliate.
Well I just said they got a point about the principle of when you dont love something you have to give it up. but they can't claim stuff coz?
1 - Who said the Lebanese dont like hummus
2 - Whatever happens, hummus stays a dish of lebanese origin.

Ok I like Hebrew so I might as well claim it to be MY language... Those israeli's are literally pathetic, just like Ayman said: They simply need anything to claim as part of their "so-called" culture in order to convince other nations around the world that they "belong" to this region.

I have to agree. Rather than wasting our time preparing tons of Hummus and attending to pointless elections that do not relate to democracy in any way, we should be thinking about how to revive our economy, enforce the law and secure our streets (regardless of what everyone is saying: crime levels have decreased dramatically over the past few months), fix our educational system AND buy/manufacture tons of weapons and arms to defend ourselves against Israel. You can not just frown at the beast hoping to scare it away, you have to kill it before it kills you (or at least find an efficient way of preventing it from killing you).

Let them deal with this , and leave resistance and fighting to the other guys :-) they are not taking anything from the way of the fighters .
