nuclearcat wrotebusiness who depend on internet doesn't use broaband, they buy corporate connection with SLA.

Only in Lebanon and few other countries "businesses" buying end-user accounts and then start nagging "you are ruining my business, this outage for 1 hour unacceptable, i will sue you!".

Btw as result of this providers have low income from corporate customers, since managers in consumer companies doesn't understand difference between corporate and end-user connection. Because this practice long-standing, infrastructure for reliable (but expensive) accounts is almost disappeared, so most of ISP's unable now to provide such kind of connection. Noone will do such infrastructure for few users...
This is not easy to understand, and difficult to explain also, but since noone ready to pay for reliability, reliability will extinct and will degrade even for regular users.
how much does
"corporate connection with SLA"

cost?
SLA is not possible in Lebanon, due Ogero. It extinct i think 5 years ago...

Ogero doesn't provide SLA for providers, and they are monopoly.
As result, how you can provide guarantee, if your upstreams is not guaranteed? Additionally, as i know none of ISP's have reliable infrastructure. I have few corporate, very expensive links - and they are going down often. Probably there is no need for such things in Lebanon, not enough serious business customers.
Usually 99% SLA cost 3-4 times more than usual dedicated bandwidth, in datacenters. In Lebanon probably more, cause of electricity issues, lack of regulations/enforcement for microwave interference, and relative civil instability.
I know that in other developed countries companies are forced by the ISP to buy a Business internet access and not an end user access, which cost a lot more, but are also more reliable and 100% guaranteed by the ISP.

megacool, are you sure you are able to download at a speed of 240 kb/s? because what could be happening is that you are using firefox (which sometimes does screw up speedtest) and some other failure at speedtest will make you see your speed faster (which as happened in other countries), im just curious.

Also did anyone else notice that max lebanons speed in speedtest just went up to a 3.45 Mbps for schools and 2.25mbps for non educational institutions.

It is the maximum average speed of the top 10 ISPs.
Yes, on VISP with some conditions you can get 2Mbps. It is not a right and guarantee, just a good will from ISP for customers to improve their satisfaction. At least this is in my hands.

so its actually 2mbps connection? thats great, i mean better than the competition.

I also have little doubt what does S.A.L. stands for?
Yes actually its about 2.1Mbps, tested it several times though(firefox,Chrome), and on idm(download manager) its about 245KB/sec,

Its cool but doesn't happen all the time only sometimes after like 2:00am and its not really constant i mean after a while of downloading a file the speed starts to drop/lag, the cool thing is if your downloading some 10mb file it ends in about a minute or 2..

but man i really need a good upload speed, 0.05mb is too damn low, if the up is at least about 0.12mb it would be great...
Guys, make your government to work properly - i will make for you any modern things and modern level.
Otherwise - you can take only what i am able to do, while your government charge ISP's 100 times more than in modern world.
Your wish will cost company pocket many thousands of dollars, thats why i just cannot do this now.

Just because very rarely i do personal changes, if i do change, i do it for all customers.
been waiting nights for this to happen with me :'( no luck so far :'(

Dude, your account is Burst enabled, it means you can download at maximum speed ( 2mbps ) for a couple of seconds before it goes back down to 256kbps...

Exactly because he also said that his speed is not constant and it drops:

i think its going to be like every other ISP, they start with great ADs unlimited quotas, great FUP, but then customers increase, the isp capacity stays the same and problems start to come, quotas go down, prices go up and FUP becomes pretty much what it is right now.
Im with comnet, great service !
I will try to do burst on upload soon too.
