i was just wondering what is the minimum internet speed should you have to have for your game not to lag?because playing is alot better with out it and my 256 kb\s speed sux and my ping is always red(rly bad)
i hate lag
latency doesn't depend on the bandwidth. WELCOME TO LEBANON!
so getting a faster connection wont help?
The weird thing is that you may find ppl who have 512k and another 128k the second have less lags. But for a real solution go to Ogero as an ISP but no unlimited and double speeds!
yea and also it costs more
umm 1 qustion from the noob whats isp?
sodetel is offering gaming package 150 ms is good :) but for 44 $ + 20 $ / month is a lot for me
im using cable internet which offer stable 30kb/s (256 kbps) but 400+ ping which is acceptable for me but no more online gaming

ISP : Internet Service Provider (Ogero, Cyberia, IDM etc...)
As Kareem said the latency does not depend on the speed. You could have a 128k connection and have great 100ms or lower pings. Even 56k can have very low pings. So the speed dosint really matter.
Ping or Latency depends how much time you need to communicate and send or recieve packets from a certain server.
For example if you type in the cmd prompt : Ping www.google.com
you get this

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 364ms, Maximum = 445ms, Average = 395ms
the results 364 and 377 and 445 are the pings or the time measured in milliseconds.- Edited
so going to ogero the best solution?
Ogero have the best pings yes. but remember they dont have unlimited quotas or anything like that.Ali_Nasser wroteso leaving lebanon is the best solution?
So people are stuck in paying 10$ for each 1GB which is really ridiculous.
+ 22$... :DAj_BlaZ wrotesodetel is offering gaming package 150 ms is good :) but for 44 $ + 20 $ / month is a lot for me

already applied.....will share my 2 cents when I got it implemented...
go to japan you pay 0.24$/month for 64mbs :P the internet in lebanon needs like a thousand year to become like this(this if it didn't get worse :P) well ye if you need low pings you can go to ogero but watch out for you limit..
that just sucks really bad i mean why just lebanon and can someone fix this?

If you're talking about the picture that someone posted on this forum, it is not $0.24/month for 64 mbps. The picture stated the price for each mbps per month, and the top (or average?) speed in the country.ballouta wrotego to japan you pay 0.24$/month for 64mbs :P the internet in lebanon needs like a thousand year to become like this(this if it didn't get worse :P) well ye if you need low pings you can go to ogero but watch out for you limit..
