I just called them, JOOC, and they said there will be no increase in quota + spead, just a "better" connection

eno sorry be...if their servers cant handle the amount of customers they hv...do they have the right to charge the customers the upgrade fees?!

of course not if your talking about a true company but ....
kareem_nasser wrotethis a completely unfair you should sue them. :P
Well...I've took the other choice....switched ISPs ;)
So Cyberia were promising people on paper that they will give them a 256k connection but in reality they were giving a shitty 256k connection for 22.99$ and now they will provide a good 256k connection for 25.99$ that either this is a fraud and it is pathetic.
I still don't understand how they can improve without improving anything, how to improve a 256k connection while it is still a 256k connection...
Not a single ISP in lebanon doesn't rip off its customers. They are all crap.
IDM is good with me last month i downloaded 20GB nothing happened or in other words after 11pm no double speed most of the time but the normal one at 512k.

I am with IDM, they really never do anything to you if you are a night download abuser, I once downloaded 25 GB when I got a premium Rapidshare account, but on the other side you get a fake private IP and not a public IP like other ISPs and the latencies are 400-450 ms if they route you through their Sat backbone and 170-200 ms if they route you through their Level3 fiber backbone.

I'm not a download abuser. I don't think I've ever gone beyond 4.5 or 5 GB a month. but I need a 400ms latency.
400 ms is considered a high latency for gamers, it is like shoot and miss, but if it is ok with you than IDM would be good for you.
It's pathetic. Really!

Usually, the higher the demand the less the prices get, except in Lebanon... Why am I not surprised!

Lol someone needs Economics 101 lessons :)

lol totally agree!

@Paladin, in business terms, what you are saying is totally the opposite, businesses need to make more money so the more the demand the higher their prices will be. Here check out the demand v.s. supply curve to get a better idea. Good luck :)
If cyberia dosint really increase anything in may 1st i wouldnt be surprised if all of their customers just ditch them and switch to other ISP's. Unless other ISP's are planning to do the same thing in the near future.
I dont recommend anyone to switch ISP's right now.
Hi guys... I am new here... anybody can tell me what their ISP and his test results here speedtest.net and pingtest.net are? I am eager to know how good is internet in Lebanon. Thanks

how good?

well,

that's about the average for a 512K Ogero Account.. seems acceptable, but let's not forget you only get 4GB/4GB Upload/download each month.

internet in Lebanon Generally sucks(some ISPs caz of the Ping-time, Ogero caz of the Super-low Strict Quota).
It doesn't seem so bad. Honestly, I was expecting the pingtest to be worse. Thanks Raficoo
well 207 isn't that good for a ping reply, mine always below 140ms
