nuclearcat If you are under FUP and you keep downloading - you will make it only worse for your account. Each service has it limits, purpose, price. If it is http/ftp link i can schedule it for download at night and i can put in on v-enjoy server. I did already maximum that i can, and gave even extra, "FUP-free" time. P.S. VISP will change FUP if it is feasible for business. I am planning to make it more comfortable (not all time 64k), but it won't increase downloads amount for specific service, till Ogero pricing for bandwidth takes major part of ISP's expenses. I am planning also additional extra service for existing account (sure not free), where you can buy specific amount of quota for maximum speed you can get (no limit on speed means).
hussam Nuclearcat, what about latency? If VISP can relocate my connection after I move to another location in Beirut next month, can I pay for better latency? this is what my VISP customer panel says Downloaded from 2010-03-01 2.16 GB Uploaded from 2010-03-01 228.97 MB And it's actually a lot more than what I normally download. normally I download less in half a month. I only need to get back to online gaming after 7PM. most of the people I play with are only online after 8PM. I will be happy to pay for better latency within reason of course. As I understand, VISP used ogero for upload and a German connection for download and the German connection is not enough and Ogero won't sell you enough for download. How about you make people who need the latency but only 5GB monthly upload+download have a special connection?
nuclearcat hussam - i am working now to implement "full fiber" connection, but bandwidth is restricted there :-( Sure i must provide for customers way to choose "latency but more bandwidth" and "low latency, but less bandwidth". Also i need to do global upgrade on core network routers, to run all this stuff, and i am postponing that to not screw all network :-) Probably we can test with you next week some stuff, i will do manually for your account. If it will work with you, i will do that for all users.
kareem_nasser then it depends on the purpose if games latency and if downloads bandwidth but most of the time we need both.
Dark_angel kareem_nasser wroteOMG it will take ages. step by step and we will be there, hang on dude ! Game downloaded : 5% ( 500 MB of 8 GB ) Precious bandwidth consumed : 5 GB 7 Days Peak Time Fair Usages: 112% 7 Days Fair Usage: 134%
Dark_angel Game downloaded : 8% ( 750 MB of 8 GB ) Precious bandwidth consumed : 6 GB 7 Days Peak Time Fair Usages: 123% 7 Days Fair Usage: 145%
Dark_angel Game downloaded : 10% ( 850 MB of 8 GB ) Precious bandwidth consumed : 6.5 GB 7 Days Peak Time Fair Usages: 129% 7 Days Fair Usage: 117% We reached the 10% milestone WooT!
