Hello everyone, I have a course were I have a project that I need to use Microsoft Visio, I know there are many open source and freeware alternatives but the teacher wants us to use that specific tool and this really sucks.

Anyways, I have searched like 4 places next to my area and no luck. I don't want to pay $559.95 for a license and I was considering downloading a free 60 day trial to satisfy the needs for now, but the size is big for my internet quota, so please if anyone knows where I can purchase a trial copy or a pirated one(I don't like to do that but the price tag is awful), or if you know someplace which provides fast and large downloads please tell me. i have visio professional 2010 preview beta size is 338 mb so the size is not big ....

if your teacher is giving you an assignment on visio, then let him or the uni provide you with a copy, or simply don't do it.
at uni you're not supposed to be buying illegal software or paying 500$ for original licenses. either THEY provide it or let them not give you homework with it.

Actually you are right, I should have thought about this, I will send him an email and ask him if it would be okay to use DIA and mentioning your good argument, actually I hate using MS products because there always open source and freeware alternatives but our teacher is a slave for MS he works for them anyways. Yeah poor guys in Redmond, they wont be able to buy luxurious villas in Silicon Valley nor buy expensive jewelry to their GFs, and they have their children to feed with expensive caviar and make them go to high class schools if they don't put such price tags on their products... yup haram...
