Zusynoid wrotewant to secure your WiFi. its REALLY easy,
screw WPA and WPA 2
screw mack filtering
just use WEP keep it a secret
AND download a generic firmware for your router which allows you to control the #Data as in initialization vectors ( popular among hackers as IVS parodying IVs used in hospitals (masil) )and limit them to 4999 IVS
wanna know why ?
well you need 5000 IVS and 300000 packets at LEAST to crack WEP so limiting it to 4999 its like a little "fuck you" to every hacker that tries anything funny
anyway only a handful in lebanon know how to crack WEP or WPA
but i assure you the ones that know how ... KNOW HOW
Asf far as I know...even if you set the router as hidden on the network list (stealth SSID), it will generate beacons, the minimum interval is 20ms, it will show up in Kismet etc...
As long as you are generating traffic on the network, there are IVs being sent, you have to deal with that.. So what ? IV values are reused.. reusing key is a weakness in any security system.
Aircrack launched using a pyshkin tews weinmann attack does not require "weak" or "unique" IVs, just any old random IVs. So in this case, I am not aware of any WEP which isn't vulnerable..
What you are referring to is called WEP-Plus, many manufacturers have updated their firmware to
filter out weak RC4 IV keys, that was back in 2003 and not a projct done by some hackers to protect their networks; this encryption has failed long time ago using the cracking technique ( see above )...
