seriously, no, don't feel much difference.
what's the most bandwidth hungry thing i do? stream low resolution youtube videos? edge is more than enough...
for other things, email, browsing, google maps, ... edge is enough.
it's not like i'm downloading torrents on my cellphone...
and i don't spend my browsing flickr while walking in the street. if i do it once a month, it's fine with me to wait 3-4 extra seconds to wait for this 1 pic in higher res to load.

and why do you want me to google 4g? i know what it is... do you have a 4g phone that you're unable to use in lebanon?
No no, about 4g its not what I meant. But I'm a bit tired now, so I won't say much.
I wanted to say that a jump in technology from gsm to 4g isn't realizable, we always pass by old western technology when they finish using them. That is a fact and will continue.

Yes edge is enough, I beleive you on words, never used it, but I am not convinced that a person downgrading from 3g to edge is enough for him.

it all depends on how you use your phone. if you don't use services that require 3G, then you don't feel a difference. if you stream high res videos, check high res pictures from your phone, download big attachments, ... then ok, you'll feel a difference.

for example, if you just browse on your computer, just browsing, nothing else, no downloads, nothing. would you feel any difference between a 10MB connection and a 100MB one?

if you don't use services that make use of that extra speed, you wont feel a difference, same apply for phones.
now maybe you stream a lot on your phone, upload lots of pics to your flickr account, facebook, ... take videos and send them by email, ... i don't know, it depends on how you use your phone. but for me, i don't, so i don't feel much difference. the things i do are not bandwidth hungry. mainly email, rss, chatting, and google/wikipedia from time to time.
The difference between 10MB and 100MB I agree on your point. But this is not the case here, coz 3g can go to 7.2mb if I'm not mistaken, and edge in leb not close to 1mb? I don't use my phone to upload picture and what not, but the regular user does that, all my app are internet dependant and when I'm on 3g vs. when I'm on wifi (I have a 100mb fiber to the home internet connection) I feel the difference in speed.
This is why I'm telling you that even with basic app you'll feel the difference, maybe not killer difference specially for mails rss etc. but still :)

Anyway point taken, edge works relatively well in leb :) I'll have to test it when I come visit ^^
