PC vs PS3

In a country with a minimum wage of a lil over 300$, not everyone can purchase games for 100$ (counting taxes, VAT and shipping).

While in the west, 60$ is a reasonable value for the 1000$ minimum wage.

I always used to buy pirated games, now I'm starting to make some exceptions (for games that can be bought online).

Pirating is bad for the industry, but also there are reasons for pirating.

if we have such a poor economy and low salaries it's because of corruption and the lack of laws. keep stealing and salaries will stay that low.

Couldn't have said it better... If you can't afford it, don't steal it! Funnily enough, if worldwide piracy stopped, game prices will greatly decrease. But that's not likely to happen ...

Are you joking? It's now common knowledge the the PS3 is superior to the 360. The PS3 has had to lower its graphics standards on some games just because the game was created on the 360 and then ported over to the PS3. Have you tried Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2? I have seen Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 and they are both good looking them. But I can't see how they look better than say, Gears Of War 2.

Even the non-exclusive Modern Warfare 2 looks better than Killzone 2. And the 360 graphics look slightly crispier, especially when it comes to shadows.

Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 does superior graphics than Gears of War 2 but you cannot compare these two games. Gears of War 2 is build on an unmodified unreal engine 3 that is nothing to compare to the ps3 exclusives engine . Well if you want to talk about the Xbox Graphics capability well you should check Froza Motorsport III. And those two consoles has the same graphic power difference is minimal , very hard to find. There are games that look better on PS3 : Assassin's Creed II and other better on Xbox : The Saboteur, Batman, ....
Plus you should wait for next year's Crysis 2 witch will max out these consoles power.
So stop arguing who has a better graphics, they both have almost same power

Maybe because those games were developed on the 360 instead of the PS3? The PS3's processor is much more complicated to work with than the 360. Where the 360 has 3 cores, the PS3 has 1 core and 7 SPEs. This is very different than what game developers are used to. This makes them develop their games on the 360. That's why the games on the 360 look better most of the time. The developers don't take the time to develop it on the PS3 and maximize on it to obtain results that will undoubtedly beat those of the 360.

I never said that the Xbox 360 has significant graphical advantage over the PS3. I said that the past years have proven that the Xbox 360 graphics are as good, if not slightly better than the PS3's graphics.

I don't think Killzone 2 have superior graphics than GOW2. Also, GOW2 is built on a heavily modified Unreal 3 engine optimized for the Xbox 360.

My main and only point is that it's a common misconception that the PS3 games look better than 360 games. Even if it's true that "developers are not yet taking full advantage of the PS3 to show the crazy beast inside" (and it's not), consumers don't care about the potential of a console, but for the game library on it. And now we're through an advanced phase of this-gen console war, and the PS3 has not proven any superiority to the 360 in terms of graphics. When are they planning to do it? 1 month before the release of the nextbox?

They're not even as good. That's what I'm trying to say. And it is true that developers are not appreciating the power of the PS3. And just because you don't think PS3 exclusives are better than 360 exclusives doesn't mean they're not. Google the professional reviews and get your answer.

Oh, and did you forget that the 360 was released a year earlier than the PS3? And on Christmas? You don't think game developers were preparing for that?

The 360 was released 4 years ago. How many more time do developers need to invest in the PS3's magical cell power?

I didn't say that PS3 exclusives are worse than 360 exclusives. We're talking about graphics here, not gameplay. Both platforms have a good first party lineup IMO.

Take the 360 back 1 year ago with it's library THEN, and you'll have a fair comparison between the two libraries. It makes a big difference.
