This is the official list of ports that are needed to be open for a smooth online play:chosen2k wroteCan someone list all the ports that needs to be opened on the ps3 so it will work online smoothly?
And is there any ports that are needed by MW2 ?
I browsed the internet and every website has different suggestions.
Did you follow the instructions flyingwizard posted?pulse wroteI'v been trying to play this game online but after clicking ''find game'' am stuck on the fetching playlist.. the connection is good, am on digitalinks. am runing out of options i dont know whether to change the routers setting or get another one, or what might be the exact problem,, help/feedback on this is much appreciated u guys.. thnx
1- If you have any firewalls in the Router, turn them off.kopite wroteHave the same problem, but I'm on a Thomson TG585v7 router (Terranet ADSL, 512K)
Any help ?
P.S : Tried to set up DMZ, but the Thomson settings page can't list my PS3 as a device able to do it.
Thanks mate for the fast reply :)chosen2k wrote1- If you have any firewalls in the Router, turn them off.kopite wroteHave the same problem, but I'm on a Thomson TG585v7 router (Terranet ADSL, 512K)

2- When you want to DMZ, you just have to enter an ip address in the field.
3- Assign your ps3 with the same ip address you used to DMZ in the router.
Flyingwizard wrote a great How to, check it out and apply it to your router. ( you can always save your settings before tampering with the router, in case u messed up something, you can always restore)
As a note: turn off everything that might be using the connection, laptops, iphones, anything....
And connect the ps3 to the router with a cable and not wireless...
In the end good luck.
dont forget to post your PSN id http://www.lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5639

256 is a bit slow for online play. You need at least a 512 connection to be able to play online. The download and upload rates of a 256 connection aren't enough for a smooth online play.Maz7006 wrotethanks... anyone else ? i believe my assumption on the ping rates is correct though. but i just need a confirmation. VISP isn't really cutting it anymore for me.
Hmmm thought so. Seriously want kind of country in 2010 is still unable to get at least "512" cnxs to homes. Like WTF.elchebib wrote256 is a bit slow for online play. Ok dude I've done some research and you are right, there is no DMZ support on that thompson router.kopite wroteBloody hell it didn't work.
First, my router CAN'T set up DMZ on the PS3, I've searched and searched and every unlucky lad with this router had the same problem.
Then, I noticed on my PS3 (before messing with the router) : NAT : Type 3.
Once again, I did some research, and yes, it's the bloody damn router Terranet gave me.
FIFA works just fine (not the smoothest of online plays, but it's barely playable), and I've been playing CODMW1 online on PC for ages, so it's basically a CODMW2 (PS3) issue.
My router just won't allow me to kick some arse online.
