  • MMorpgs and the lebanese broadband nightmare

hi all

nope this is not a new fictional novel written by some prof in some university somewhere !

i ve been using wireless broadband(512 terrasmart//wise machine thingy) for the last 2-3 years , have been with terranet for the last 1.5 years.
Played several games online , the same one for the last 12+ month
i ve always had an ingame ping between 190 and 280ms.

HOWEVER ever since the month of sept 2009 started, i get huge mega super power lag spikes after 23:30 in weekdays (especially early week ) and today this Sunday started at 9 pm.

Now u could say that its game server lag/problem. but even ventrilo got lag (actually skips but u know what i mean)
and my browsing suffers lags too

called support for a total of 45 mins ( total of all my conversations time ) they still have " no problem" , we ll investigate it.

here is my tracert tonight
racing route to 77.95.25.178 over a maximum of 30 hops

So whats the best ISP for gaming if not terra , i m talking only wise machine here, whats my best option ??

Please help
I like your sense of humor..

Ogero is ideal for gaming.

less routing eventually leads to speed :) so in fact its not ogero wich is good :P i dont like saying good things about this company :P

Not really, Ogero got more bandwidth than all other ISPs.. No congestion, No overload => better ping reply => better latency => better download speed.
Does ogero offer wise machine interrnet " wireless modem connection "
again i cant get adsl due to the fact that i got no phone line in my rented apartement.

So which is the best ISP , offering Wise/wins/ terrasmart (so many stupid names for a stupid system)

Anyone pleassssse
I am not aware of that. No phone line = no joy with online gaming.
guys even thou i love ur comments and all
but i need solutions here with the tools i have

Love ya all :P

and i ve had better results on my wise (before september) then my friends on adsl.
BUT this is not a ADSL vs "wise" debate
its a " i got wise , what isp should i use" debate
I am not a gamer, but a friend of mine is, he has Wise via IDM, he loves it, try them.
Well yesterday Ogero was 130ms on ping and D/C every 5mins on AN hard mode 25.

Vent was fine though, but it's just these days sometimes it disconnects sometimes no.
I think wise is good.

^^^^^^ This......
OK again
LOL
We still dont have a lot of people in here, we need more opinions.

This is my experience : Terransmart ( terranet account on a Wise machine thingy ) , was really good until septembre , was good for 2 years+or- , usually game ping btw 200 - 280. barely any lag andbarely any dcs
after septembre --> game unplayable after 10.30 - 11, and my whole interent is slowed.

Anybody getting problem lately with internet slowdowns, or just terrannet is uber bad now ?

Anyways, my motnhly subscription is over in less than 6 days and i really like to know to which isp to go to ?
not much i can suggest.. Ogero is the best when it comes to Latency.. but if you ain't got no Phone line.... hard to decide which ISP to go to
Go Wise and keep bitching at the support to change your route. If they say they "can't" do it, tell them they're lying.

and if the guy there was mean ? he would probably route him to china and back :P and create a nice loop over dubai before finally sending the Bytes were they are supposed to go :P

Then i'd spend 57,000 and buy a phone line then subscribe to DSL relieving myself from all the trouble.
true + you get the benefit of a land phone ! :)

What if you have a 2k$ unpayed bill ? ^__^

There are already flexible payment plans provided by Ogero.

Shouldn't be hard to settle.
