<shy> need an invite </shy>
Didn't get an invite from google.. Would love to try it though :)
Doesn't get what Wave is for:
- Rolf
@rolf: It's like email mixed with instant messaging, with the googledocs functionality of having several people writing the same document in real time. You don't have emails sent, you have people logging on and writing on the same page, kindof like a blog, but dynamic.
As stated in their preview:

"It's what email would look like, if it were invented today"

Though, i seriously doubt it will be live with the *almost* instant update. Way too much overhead that even google servers wont be able to handle.
i requested an invite from google ages ago and still have got none :(
me has wave, has no invites

you can always use etherpad and other online collabs

Unfortunately, email is already invented
And why the hell do the smileys display as text?
Why were the smilies turned off??
Whatever, maybe its a good thing
i requested an invitation. but still, nothing.
Samer, also need invitation ^^
Agree with rolf, if that's what Google Wave is all about, well it seems useless :/

Take a look at the preview : http://wave.google.com

this is like saying that IM is useless because we could simply send emails instead.
from a collaboration point of view, working remotely with other people, ... email can't do much
Well it seems I am not very well informed as you guys about the Google Wave project so what I will do is read more and see :P

That would be true if we hadnt already so many means of communication. Email, IM, facebook, etherpad, Google Docs, of course in addition to sms and phone.
I think it is interesting but not for organising barbecues and such. Mostly for collaborative work, and meetings, but large organisations do not like their data to be hosted on external websites.
just a question: can't spam bots scan public waves to collect all the emails of people participating in that wave? better stay away from public waves?
hmm i bet the guys at Google have done something to eliminate that factor just like how facebook did ;)
