  • Stupid thing someone told you related to tech

AymanFarhat wrotelol nice thread, that made me remember something I faced at the university last year in a course. Here is the story, I took a course at the university and it was introduction to computing were we learned the some excel and MS Access, this course is not specific to a certain major so anyone can take it

Anyways, one day the teacher gave us example excel spreadsheets to check them out at home, the next day a student came to me and

said: The teacher gave us defective excel files that didnt open on my PC! did it work for you?

I said: yeah it works for me, are you sure you have the right version of MS Office? Maybe you have an older version of MS Office?

She analyzed the situation for a moment...

then she proudly said: no no, I am sure that's not the problem, the problem is that the PCs here in the lab are HP while my laptop is Toshiba so it looks like they are not compatible with each other and it looks like excel differs from one PC brand to another

I was like: WTF? I didn't want to argue with her since I knew she was an idiot(never try to convince idiots) so all I said is: yeah you may be right, you'd better get a new PC... w7ele 3an ****** :P
yeah Microsoft does a specific MS Office fro each brand ! you should have known that :p

but you know when you fix something for idiots they will think that you are like the best :P you can testelemoun direclty.

i have this neighbor that was trying to log into his hotmail. so he was typing the mail and password and was not logging in. he requested my help and the problem was that he was not pressing login :@ . he even called the net comapany and tell them there is a problem with the connection.
I understand calling it "a stupid thing or silly thing" being said to you.

But calling people idiots is rather, how do you put it? Idiotic?

it is not that these poeple are idiots, it just they say some silly things.
but there are a lot who like think they know everything and comes up with stupidest ever theories or info an they are wrong but they can't accept that from you even if you say it in a respectful way
Well if you Open the Wasseet newspaper and check all computer commercials you will see alot of funny mistakes, like almost in the middle of it there is a Lebanese company that post every week a full page of offers this company is called GCC or something in the VGA section all the VGA names start with FX while as GN90 said FX is an old series, some advertise in wasseet that they sell Mp3,Mp4,Mp5 and Mp6 players, (I am dying to see an Mp6 player), not long time ago at PC and parts Product catalog page they used to write in the processors section Intel Pentium 4 Core 2 Duo or P4 core 2 duo while P4 has nothing to do with Core 2 duo.

well Aly FX series are not that old!! they offer 1 gb memory nd decent clock speed ;) while MP4/5/6 are CHINESE ! so u cant blame the chinese on being stupid :P they make cars that look as good as a 7MAR!! :P

mp6 has touch screen, mp5 a cam that's what a costumer told me :p and he sad wait for the mp7 at Christmas.
but i wonder what an Mp1 looked like . they directly started producing MP3's :p

Here's another one.
We used to have an IT Teacher [She's Blond / No Offense Ladies ] and we used to study the technology behind the pentium 5 and 6 processors.

I Got an A on that course btw.
