I've been working in a famous retail shop in lebanon in the cam/laptop section and sell stuff to people and you cannot imagine how much people can be ignorant about things. What are some things you hear?

there are quite simple stuff
like lebanese speaking english all the time and with that english accent
i sometime try to switch the convo for arabic but they keep englishifiying it
so once this person was talking to me in english in a terrible accent
she wanted to say "computer" but she said "ordinator" ( ordinateur )
it is simple thing.. but made me crack cuz it is very basic and shallow

haha yeah, well when it comes to cams megapixel will turn into megapicture and they even don't know what a megapixel mean and do to the picture :p
there that other thing, the thing that make me crasy : "why not made in japan ?"
one costumer told me he want a laptop with a good picture card, this turned to be the VGA at the end

Not within topic context, but i just hate it when a relative gives me a call and says:
"I want to buy a computer, what should i get?" or "My computer is slow, how do i speed it up?"

I forgot most of them, but i know people can be quite ignorant.
The ones that I remember, the computer science undergrad students who asked the teacher how to zip the assignement (during a programming class)
I really forgot the rest. just beware of people who have their msn trying to spread viruses no their behalf (its a bad sign), but dont mind the ones who will read you the complete error messgages (including hex debugging addresses, and obscure function calls) - at least theyre trying :D
btw GN90, asking for the difference between PS2 and 3 is not such a bad question, I mean I would like to know too before buying, is it worth the price difference? Not everyone do online research before shopping.

no man in is a bad qustion. it is like your asking the difference between a geforce FX series and the geforce GTX ones.

um FX where released in 2003 or 2002, and the GTX last year ! so basically is it new generation and cannot be compared. and you guys serious about that ? or making jokes

I was serious because despite everything i know, I am not really following.. you cannot know everything on earth you can google what you need to know when you need to know.
You can ask me what is the difference between the 3G and 4G.. for me its a really silly question but the answer is for sure not obvious ( 1G :) )...
My dad is a doctor, sometimes when he asks me what is the difference between bluetooth and wifi, I find it really hard to explain. I cannot make fun of him because I know that he knows 50,000 things more than I do. It is just that Im good at few things :)

lol nice thread, that made me remember something I faced at the university last year in a course. Here is the story, I took a course at the university and it was introduction to computing were we learned the some excel and MS Access, this course is not specific to a certain major so anyone can take it
Anyways, one day the teacher gave us example excel spreadsheets to check them out at home, the next day a student came to me and
said: The teacher gave us defective excel files that didnt open on my PC! did it work for you?
I said: yeah it works for me, are you sure you have the right version of MS Office? Maybe you have an older version of MS Office?
She analyzed the situation for a moment...
then she proudly said: no no, I am sure that's not the problem, the problem is that the PCs here in the lab are HP while my laptop is Toshiba so it looks like they are not compatible with each other and it looks like excel differs from one PC brand to another
I was like: WTF? I didn't want to argue with her since I knew she was an idiot(never try to convince idiots) so all I said is: yeah you may be right, you'd better get a new PC... w7ele 3an ****** :P
