arthas wroteSeriosly, they fail in every aspect ! all we can do is whine about it, because there is no other alternative, OGERO is the only backbone adsl provider we have, since our government doesn't allow any other company from coming, PURE monopoly ! atleast be competent enough to start a dsl service :S
Agreed, it has been almost a year since I've posted in this thread and to this day, Ogero's services still are very poor and expensive...I had to degrade my subscription from 512kbps to 256kbps because the overpay was getting out of my budget. I don't bother playing any online games(other than Facebook/small flash apps) because of the Ping. for downloads what I do is copy the download links, go to the Library in my University(off course when I got lectures to attend lol).. go on my account.. start the download(s) and lock the computer :P
since Day 1 of Ogero's "ADSL" launch, they have not never improved the speeds, have never decreased the prices, have ever lowered the latency, and more importantly, have never increased the amount of quota/month allowed... 2GB/3GB/4GB/5GB/8GB respectively, is Ridiculous... the only thing they have done is lowered the price you pay over usage(which even with the current prices are still very high)
This is not just Ogero I'm talking about, all ISPs are forced to provide poor service to their customers due to the monopoly and restrictions done by the government
I apologize for complaining, but waiting year after year...after year only talk and no actions, It can get frustrating...
It is quite a sad scene whenever I keep remembering how even the poorest of African nations(with extremely low quality of life) surpass us in the broadband business:
(
http://www.speedtest.net/global.php)(Note: we were higher by ranking and speed in the past, we have gotten slower)
We are waiting the new Broadband plan(the Fiber-optics and the IMEWE cable) to come alone.. but still.. 16 months is a long time.. guess it's gonna be a while, until then(If actions are actually taken that is...) we're going to continue staying at the bottom of the lists
