Mir, this doesn't seem a stupid question, no one replied yet in 2 days..
I had this problem once, but it worked later, don't ask me how....i don't know myself
But after some googling, i found that you need some fonts installed with arabic charsets.
Try this, and tell us if this solves ur problem.

Well, here they sell special Adobe Photoshop packs.
There is Photoshop CS3 ME (Middle East) edition. Maybe thats why ?
mir
well... in earlier versions of photoshop ... if you had ana arabic font... all you had to do is switch your keyboard to arabic.
I am trying to find an alternative other than downloading the whole photoshop ME thing
I did a quick work around..that is use gimp and paste the layers as photoshop.
If there wasn't a photoshop req. i was gonna be happy using gimp... and in my opinion the whole language limitation thing is stupid.
there is a tool you can use.. but it is under MAC .. something like kalimat
I guess i will have to download the ME edition... let me see how long that is gonna take for my internet challenged ISP :(
links anyone ?

You need the ME version. If you still need it msg me, I'll be back home in a week or so.

Can't you just go to Character map in windows, type whatever you want, and then paste in the Photoshop layer?
mir
If it is not an ME edition
if you type in winword and paste into photoshop you get the letters.. but reversed and in some ugly way !
I hate those licensing limitations and don't get them
it used to work before.. nothing logical make it stop working ... it should work now.. why would i need another product to download ! ?

Should've, could've, would've. Windows or OS X?
