Hello;
Since this is my first post, I will present myself:
http://www.lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=22536#p22536
So I have this yelostudio freelance network, that I own with my friend & collaborator.
We do a lot of different works, and almost everything we do makes heavy use of internet. If we are doing animation or illustration, we need references; if we are doing coding we need cheatsheets, if we are doing websites, obviously, we need to upload and test them. We need internet even more since our network extends much further than Lebanon, and involves people in France, UK, and other countries. We need chatting, sending big files, maintaining a collaborative website, etc.
Until now, I can't find an internet connection that satisfies me even a little.
We have been with Wireless wise for a while ("gold" plan), but we used to get over the 4gb limitation every month, resulting in humongous bills. Other than that, the speed was, I guess, kind of ok compared to Lebanon. It was crap, crap, crap, made me cry of rage at times, but most of the time it was bearable if I took deep breaths and smoked a lot.
Now we've switched from wise to the local cable guy, and this is really unbearable. Apparently he takes his connection from VISP (why didn't we contact VISP directly? I wasn't there when this happened, I was in France for a project, and I am the IT guy...), and it is way too slow and too expensive.
We usually have between one to five PCs heavily using internet at any given time.
I want to ditch the local cable guy and find something else. But I am afraid of going all the length and filling papers etc only to find myself back to point zero.
Do you have any suggestion? I am willing to hear anything as long as it says I'll have a somewhat reliable connection. Cyberia? Terranet? Ogero? Is there a real difference between them all?
My requirements:
- REAL unlimited download & upload (at night is ok, as long as it is really unlimited and not a lie)
- As fast as it gets (512kb is the lowest possible speed)
- fair price (connecting by satellite at 1$/mb is out of the question)
This is kind of urgent, I have four websites in the works and I will need to upload and test them soon, and with this connection it is simply not realistic.
Hope you can help, and thanks in advance.
