id like to have a copy!
I find the Netbook Remix release very interesting. Has anyone tried it yet?
For AUB students, I'll provide you with an internal FTP link in the coming days (it won't affect your quota).
Tried it (using it right now). No obvious differences with Ibex yet, but some notable speed loss (except boot time ... it's just magic!). I'm using Kubuntu though, I have yet to try GNOME.
I installed 9.04 and it screwed up the whole system I have to re-install everything now.. I believe the upgrade was not a good idea... I lost all the drivers upon rebooting... No more network interfaces detected.. tried to reconfigure everything.. they are simply no more detectable... so I cannot run apt-get anymore anyway... That is freaking horrible. Beside, I did not see any noticeable difference with 8.10.....It is just slower...
Maybe we should give it a couple of days for the first major bugs to be fixed...
Too late.. I am enjoying reinstalling the OS ..

Small review:
+Great boot speed as advertised(as fast as fresh XP install)
+Shutdown speed is improved(and bugs there fixed, at least for me)
+New notifications are eye-candy
+Brasero included in default installatoin
+Stability improvements over 8.10
+New Background :P (cool as always)
-Require more clicks to install proprietary software
-Default sound configuration is set to too low (changing the surround value in alsamixer fixes that)
-Network configuration is buggy in some areas

Philippe Rouquier, the Brasero developer, is an online friend of mine btw. He's very nice. He uses Fedora. I've been following development since version 0.2 . He's a very good developer. He didn't stop development even when his kid was born in late 2007 if I remember correctly.
If you like Brasero, please sent him a 'Thank you' email. He's a very sweet person so it will make him very happy to know people appreciate his work. :)
