  • Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3 (Lebanon-wise !)

mmm about this topic well we can't get objective, a 360 fan will tell you 360 rocks and sony fans will has ps3 has blue ray :D.
personally i wish i can have both :P the ps3 has exceptional exclusives games, a wireless controller that can be charged without paying an additional 50$, Wifi, psp compatibility, more fun for a programmer he can install up to 8 op system and linux in integrated and of course you will save the blue ray player cost if you own a full HD TV and sure no RROD but ps3 have this 4% failure with reading disks.
on the other hand the 360 has a better online service, achievements makes you want to play the game and addicted to the system , a better controller design, media sharing between pc , XBLA is funnnnnn but there is that RROD problem which it seems to be finally fixed with the jasper moddels.

so for me the 360 is better as a gaming console, i will get the ps3 just to play uncharted 2.

the problem with the ps3 modd is not the blue-ray thing like all people say.
well most of ps3 games are like 6 to 7 GB size except for the exclusive stuff witch are about 20GB (full HD cutscenes that we can rip) so we can use normal double layer DVD's for the game. The problem with the mod is that everytime you put a new game into the console it updates and modify the system's firmware so this means it is impossible to perform a firmware hack. Plus this firmware update allow the game to boot this means without it you cannot play the game, this means you cannot perform a DVD hack similar to the 360 one.

for this method yeah i saw like a year before a video on youtube for a person playing ps3 games form an external HDD but this method had a lot of limitations.
so far SONY had made it beating pirating for the first time :)

I've heard of fanboys but you take the cake. Stop sucking on the tit. This is a friendly place, not a dick measuring competition. So relax and do your elitest stuff on PS3 without boasting about it in a thread that's clearly about gaming factor. You installed Linux, awesome for you. Stop acting like you invented the scheme on how to go about doing that. But learn that not everyone buys a gaming system to install Linux on it. We're all part of the same sandbox.



Now concerning this post. Both systems are priced close to one another. But if you go the 360 route, try waiting to see how "Natal" will fair. If it works like it says it does, it'll be pretty wicked.
yeah Natal is gonna be awesome but the developers has some really big challenges. cause now natal is just for arcade small games, and impossible to use it with big games otherwise you need a playground in your house.
i dk how they will do it, Microsoft has started redeveloping it now and epic games CEO is talking about a new GoW with natal, seems they had overcome some limitations.
But still one bad thing about Natal: it will be to expensive, Microsoft reported that its price will be the same as consoles.
Gary wroteKnowing that Lebanon is from PAL regions and America is NTSC so buying an Xbox 360 from America won't work here in Leb? And as far as I know that HDTV don't have NTSC/PAL thing
i have an NTSC 360 cause all EA and rockstar pirated games available here are NTSC and it is working fine. but no original DVD can is playable, only pirated ones

Modded xbox 360 consoles can be banned from XBOX LIVE online gaming after a while of use and honestly if you plan of getting a none modded xbox 360 console you'l face a huge problem by getting your favorite game as an original game for the 360. After i got banned from xbox live i wanted to get a none modded 360 and after i couldnt find any orginal good game for the 360 for example untill now virgin mega stores didnt get the call of duty Modern warfare 2 for the 360 consoles so i decided to switch to the ps3 cause in OUR country ps3 provides more accessories and more games while the xbox 360 does not provide much though xbox online gaming is way much cooler than a ps3 online gaming but its not for free while play station network provides online gaming for free ps3 is a bit more complicated console than the 360, the 360 is more like hook it up and go ahead i bet a 10 years old kid cant manage a ps3 settings ! and the MOST important feature about the ps3 that it provides bluray player and a built in wifi adapter for wireless connections while 360 doesnt you need to spend another 100 dollars for the wireless adapter which i bought one after my 360's network card got striked by a lightning :D so i had to go wirelessly :D but now Im off the 360 cause its not preferred as much as the play station is preferred in our country that's why you cant find so much accessories and original games in the market place for the 360 consoles
True Xbox Online is much much much cooler than the ps3 online gaming.

getting banned sucks cause your HDD will not be fully functional anymore and the media center feature won't be available anymore.

Xbox doesn't have support here but PS3 have so anyone want to "rayyi7 raso" go for a PS3
I got banned as well.
Bought a new 360, now I'm using original games, not finding the games here is a bitch, but at least I grabbed one of the last Mw2 at Virgin the other day.
It really pisses me off that there isn't more 360 game providers in Lebanon, most of my games are brought to me from Europe, because I can't find them here.
After your banned the HDD can't save games on it.
