a really really bad scenario of non stopping lag spikes.. please nuclearcat any chance of it getting fixed soon ? i really want my old latency back :S

and i noticed alot of packet loss ( i think that's the cause of the spikes ) , at least one request timeout when trying to ping google.com each time..

Yes, things become worse. Probably i will collect all usernames of people who is willing to test some low latency things, and we will try something. But probably i will need to reorganize everything on NAS servers to do that, my idea to provide users button "Gaming mode", where is bandwidth can be lower, and there is only few slots available, but users will get good latency. Worth to try i guess, to make it.

well the "gaming button" is a good idea for me and people like me , i mainly game all the time i'm on the computer , i don't browse or stream alot so latency is my main concern

i'm taking a 6 weeks break from WoW starting on next tuesday :\ but i can test it on some FPS like team fortress 2 or COD4 ( i don't really play it anymore since ping is 450+ .. impossible to score a kill ) !

i have a question for you.
i am terranet DSL user and the delay to UK is usually 120~140 ms. In my university which is LIU bekaa, the delay to UK is 90~120 ms, and i think that the university is a client of VISP and i am sure there is no DSL or such cable, so my question is:

it is possible that the delay via microwave(wireless) is better than DSL(cable)??
my little knowledge tell me that the delay in cable is much better, so ??

800ms pings to google..ingame latency is a number undiscovered yet by mathematics :\

I am in LIU Beirut Branch and they are with IDM. I dont think they will change ISPs for a different branch because they may have an exclusive deal.

About wireless and DSL, many ISP's have crappy connections to DSL exchanges. Also there is different types of backbone in Lebanon, some is to USA, which is worse latency wise.

Make your own numbering system. For example one vengeance = 1000 in decimal system. :D

Vengeance I have a question for you.

Why do you persist in subscribing to a service and/or with a certain ISP when there are so many problems that are never getting solved ?

Surely there is another solution in your area, even if it's a bit more expensive.
Look at it this way: You might be paying less for VISP but clearly you are unable to use the service you are paying for... for days in a row.

Don't adhere to the saying "B2ello tayss bi 2elle 7lebo". Switch ISPs and/or find another solution and enjoy your internet experience.

i don't want to seem like ranting or complaining here , just posting some results i get ..

about switching ISPs , nah no unlimited night traffic no double speed no nothing , and i don't use less than 11+gb per month , so.. you know ... if we had what you guys have in beirut , unlimited traffic double speed i would have switched 2 years ago , that's a something they should look for to do i guess , or increase the quota like 2 gb or 3 gb more for download ... since it seems like complaining i won't be posting here any results anymore .. hoping things get better for people who live outside of beirut or regions where all DSL features still not available

I live in Beirut but the main reason I have a VISP connection is the broadband. DSL is not an option for me. I have a rented apartment with no land phone line (just my cell phone). VISP also moved the equipment they installed in my old building to the new one for free when I moved last year. They also replaced them once for free when lightning damaged them in my old building. Another plus for VISP is nuclearcat. I haven't had good experiences with phone support so I now report problems to him instead.
But I admit coming close to almost dropping my internet connection at home more than once last winter.

Monday i will work on issues more closely, now i am just locked to finish new features fo customers and to improve stability.
Latency is next concern.

i have been a VISP user for about 2 years
VISP got a Huge Problem With the peak Time from 6 pm - 12 am !
thats the whole problem on VISP !

Peak time performance is a lot better lately here but I still get random internet outages.
