Ok, I already have an open ticket. I'll just try calling support tomorrow again. :/
nuclearcat
I dont think they know more than me. Issue that it has to be done from management... all information i know, things in progress.
hussam
I realize that nuclearcat and I truly appreciated your hard work and that you're very transparent and helpful.
I just find it hard to believe that downloading over port 80 is being given too much priority and works at top speeds 24/7 while online gaming that uses little bandwidth hardly works only from 2AM to 10AM. The rest of the day, it's continuous 10 second to 40 second lags.
nuclearcat
I will appreciate list of games and ports(if possible) they are using. I will try to do something...
At least i can try to reduce latency.
hussam
I use eternal-lands only.
the server is game.eternal-lands.com
IP address of game.eternal-lands.com is 213.152.3.5
the game runs through port 2000.
That's the only game I play.

Well Hello , New to the forums but this specific post caught my eye , brief introduction : Ahmad , 19 y/o ( very brief hehe )
as for the post well i think the most popular online game would be WoW , and the ports are : ( copied from
http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=19455&categoryId=2091&parentCategoryId=&pageNumber=1 in case u need verification )
The suggested ports to open are TCP ports: 3724, 6112 and the range 6881-6999
The World of Warcraft Voice Chat feature uses UDP Port 3724
Hope this will be solved soon

For WoW two ports are essential, if my memory serves me well.
3724 and 8085 TCP. One of them is used for realm issues (logging in, user list, groups) whilst the other
one is used for the actual gameplay and it is the one that has to be queued with higher priority. Can't remember
which one though. I think 8085 is the gameplay port whilst 3724 is the realm management port.
Mike
Here it is :
---------->World of Warcraft requires that port 3724 is open<-------. The Blizzard Downloader requires that ports 3724 and 6112 are open. It can also benefit from having ports 6881 through 6999 open .
didn t find anything abt port 8085 though , i tried looking at the Router/firewall Settings page , and the Ports page , and this is what i got when i looked at the ISPs page :
Internet Service Provider restrictions. Most Internet traffic is connecting on ports ranging from 1 to 1024. There are, however, ports ranging from 1 to 65535 and ports over 1024 are not standard for most traffic. World of Warcraft uses port 3724 on the TCP protocol. Some ISPs are restricting or completely blocking traffic on ports higher than 1024, or specific port ranges. These restrictions may have different reasons, and it is important that the Internet Service Provider allows traffic on port 3724 for World of Warcraft to function correctly.
During the peak internet traffic time (from 8pm - midnight), ISP restrictions can have an increased affect on players. In these cases, Blizzard Europe cannot interact personaly but in order to help our customers, we create and forward a report to these ISP to let them know that a problem is being experience by their customers when playing the game due to this reason.
hope this helps

I play on a client called : Garena.
UDP Port : 1513.

hahaha kareem^^ the only thing that interested me in your picture was the direct link from which you are downloading the photoshop:D (if you can pm:p)
On another note, disconnect/connect every 10-15 seconds, not a nice thing to do... unless you program a bot to do it:) and nuc would have to pleasure and ban your ip (that is what he said... quoting him: "sometimes i am checking accounts who connect/disconnect too much and banning them.")
I don't care (now) about the time to download a file, but that I can download it without worrying about a limit...
Edit: I found the link;) visp rock:p even though I don't need photoshop, I need flash... but hey, one can't have everything

I removed the link from where i was downloading adobe photoshop because it refers to a warez website so I believe it should not be posted here.
Another thing, I am not making a tutorial here on how to crackup the network... I thought I said.. I found a BUG... So I was just explaining what was going on. So if they were not aware of it, they may have something to do to fix it. After all..I can keep those things for me :)
Mike
ok i talked to 2 people on the online support :
the first one 2 days ago : gaming latency will be taken care of next week
this morning : tomorrow u ll be able to play any online game with almost no lag at all
so which one is true lol
nuclearcat
tomorrow will be improvement on QoS, but still not like b4
i wish next week we can make final changes to put latency same as b4 or even better
invalid-user-43
:)
Mike
ok so with the QoS improvements/updates/repairs , what kinda latency would we have ? i mean is raiding , or being in high populated areas possible ?and like tomorrow in general or a specific time ?
i m sorry for the nagging but it s been like 2 weeks no raiding not even doing heroics hehe
nuclearcat
no idea, tomorrow at evening we will see results
crazy
Everything not depending on real time, is working almost smoothly (msn still goes nuts sometimes:) ).
Concerning video conversation (maybe skype also, did not try it yet), and online gaming, still waiting on the improvement, hope next week will be it.
