Yes, now it's clear which servers serving your account, and one of them probably malfunctioning. As soon as i come back to home, i will check things.
hussam wroteI have 128/56 k download/upload. and I pay my reseller 45$ which is a very affordable good price for me. but does it mean my reseller has my account reduced from 256k? (sorry if this seems like an ignorant question).
That means your reseller is ripping you off.

If an end user pays 30$ for 256, a reseller of course gets a much better price, and to top it off, he gives you half the connection for double the price.

Only Sub-ISP have power of managing service speeds. Reseller have choice of accounts, and he can just put you service from predefined list. I'm planning soon to try organise all this chaos, so it will be more transparent for customers.

Is this addressed to me or hussam ?

EDIT : I suppose it's addressed to me. If that's the case, then thanks for checking, and hope this will be fixed soon.
Should be better now. But i just did quick workaround.
I think my Sub-ISP has external download ...Anyway.. who cares...
nuclearcat wroteShould be better now. But i just did quick workaround.
Indeed.

Although the speed is slow, but I can manage. 10-15 kbps is better than 0 kbps, and as you said it's just a workaround, so things will be improved later, i suppose.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
And I still wonder what are the resellers doing ! They even DONT CARE

DDL just stopped, yet again.
Resellers? Well it is difficult to put for them rules, if i try to do that - they say "We will leave and go to work with illegal ISP". Only one rule that manage them from full lawlessness - competition with other suppliers and resellers.

If people here was not complete sheeps in term protecting their rights - they dont need resellers actually.

For example i will give u reason why speeds mostly low on most of areas. Resellers buying from us account for $30 let's say, end-user, putting router in building and putting cable for 10 people inside, and grab from people $40. So at end they pay us $30 and put in pocket monthly $370. And consumption on this account lead it unprofitable for VISP and at the good end-users pay for this robbery from their pocket. We are actually hostages of resellers, and people is also lightsome. If we put strict laws for reseller and he will switch to illegal ISP, they will go like sheeps behind shepherd and pay.

If you have any idea how to fix this - welcome.
One of ways to create something similar to "labor union", but "Lebanese internet users union", which will help users to educate and help to understand when technical support or reseller lying to them about something.

I check now - working.
Apart from when a wireless access point (D-Link brand) machines break, my reseller just tells me to check with VISP. he says I only sell you the account and I can only repair/replace your local wireless access point machine.

But I don't mind the low bandwidth as long as the connection is stable. I don't really download much apart from updated packages for my linux installation. I'm just a online gamer.

Well here, it connects for 2 minutes, then the download becomes weaker then dies. Maybe it has to do with peak time.
nuclear cat, online gaming improved a lot in the last 50 minutes. :P Let's hope is stays like this :)

EDIT. it started dying again at 11 PM :(

EDIT, totally dead at 11:54 PM :(
sorry guys I just asked my reseller.. He told me there is not such thing called 1GB/day quota... It is unlimited... you download as much as you want... so now Im downloading ubuntu 8.04 hardy .. around a 4GB file... 62% downloaded and still downloading...
Why Hardy? why not get the latest release?
I thought it is still beta... I am using the 7.10 gusty but I am not really up to date with everything. It is just to hard to keep following everything.
8.10 is the latest stable release.
yeah thanks, I guess I didnt really pay attention. Weird, Ubuntu requested an upgrade to 8.04 I guess i will have to cancel my download... that is 2GBs wasted...grrrr

Just my cents.. resellers make money more than what VISP does.
