Today my mom passed away at age 64 from stage 4 triple negative (not growing on body hormones) breast cancer with infilitration and metastasis to lungs / bones / lymph nodes.
Mom was diagnosed in June 2016 , localized in right breast only. We did the whole protocols of chemo therapies , radical mastectomy , and radio raditions. After one year of intense treatments her body was cleaned ( PetScan & Cancer Antigens Blood Markers). Three months later , the shock happened with disease relapse in the surgery bed with metastasis to the lungs & bones. Another round of new chemo lines and immuno therapies until the disease progression adapted to any chemo therapies by building a self immuno & altering its genome. We shited CMC hospital with hope , as the oncologist said the previous oncologist missed crucial chemo medicines. Day my day loss of appetite , weight , collapse of lungs. Nothing worked , and she passed away in her room from breath issues.
From my experience:
Cancer has no direct cure. Rather chemo is dumped inside the body to halt the quick division of cancer cells & none cancer cells ( cells that divide quickly such as white bloods cells ).
Cancer cells change their genome. The body will be clean & suddenly there is a wake of silent cells.
Cancer cells passes by the immune system as if they are none harmful cells.
Cancer is an agony journey. Chemo has severe side effects like lowering the immunity system , fatigue , heart weakening ... In cancer agony the patient will on one hand treating cancer and on the other hand treating the symptoms of the treatment it self. Added to that tough scans ( CT Scans , MRIs , PetScans) and tough radio therapies that burn the skin.
Cancer can be treated but not cured.
Rest in Peace mom , your agony ended today.
