I wanted to know why if for example we order from dx.com or aliexpress.com they arrive to your doorstep without paying an extra cent whereas if you use companies like fedex or aramex you can charged?
i have ordered a lot from aliexpress and the likes without any customs, they all arrive with that libanpost packaging, i have also ordered shirts from qwertee.com arriving with libanpost package without any customs, however once i ordered from hollister and was blasted with a huge bill from fedex.
does this mean I can tell any other company to send me the product using the shipment service (whatever they're called) that sends the product through Libanpost and skip all bills?
Edit: my point is not to rant but rather to see if we can use libanpost without any fees and the actual reason why we don't pay for it.

I ordered a few items from iHerb a while ago, shipped with DHL, they wanted me to pay 58$ for 40$ worth of items. I even asked them why $58? she said $7 for customs, $40 for "to5liss jomorke" and the rest are crap "overnight shit and fuel surcharge". I told her to keep the items because I don't want them.
I reordered the same items but shipped with DHL Global Mail/Saver, which Liban Post will deliver. I paid nothing and it was big a box.
A few stuff I ordered and what I had to pay:
- An $80 keyboard from Massdrop, I paid 5k LL. Libanpost didn't take their 10k LL flat fee when there's customs to be paid, so it seems there's a limit.
- A $500 4k USB-C monitor, shipped with DHL Global Mail also, I paid $80.
- $250 worth of items from China, I had to pay around 30-35$.
I never paid a single penny for items shipped from Aliexpress or banggood and so on, even for many small and cheap items shipped from the US.
So yeah... DHL and co are bunch of scammers. I usually stick with Libanpost when I want to ship to Lebanon, because the customs and taxes fees are usually fair.
If you're ordering from the US, ship via USPS or DHL Global Mail (aka DHL Saver).

yesterday I went to Libanpost next to airpot.
I had a large shipment from Alibaba ( 23kg)
they sent me to dhl ( same property different building) so that a dhl employee estimates the value of shipment and specify accordingly the amount of customs i need to pay. Then I was sent to customs ( again same property different building) to pay, followed by going back to libanpost and then paid new fees ( storage fees) then i got my parcels.
So Libanpost does make you pay all the bills if it decides that your order is worthy of it. I paid 100000ll for an estinated 500000 ll import and 70000ll for storage.
real value of order including shipping was 300$ so in total i ended paying more than 1/3rd of total value
PS: i did come on time but they didnt serve me the first time due to some movement organised by some politucal party, so when i managed to come th next time i got slammed with 70000 late storage fees, or else no storage fees should be imposed.

Depends on package size.
LibanPost wanted:
5000LL for some cheap sunglasses shipped from the USA
62000LL for a small speaker + 2 rubber cases + wall charger
25000LL for my WASD v2
760000LL for a V-Moda Crossfade M100 + BoomPro Microphone

okay, I understand they charge randomly, my question is why are products from aliexpress free of charges and other websites are not?

Because they are small packages,

So a leaf blower would be considered small?
Georges00
Probably not since it should come in a cartoon box which will get opened and usually taxed

I got one around 3 years back with zero taxes

I recently made a purchase from fasttech, 2 items for 8$, delivery was free with HK post.
Today I received a first notice of the arrival of the postal parcel from libanpost, with the extra charges I have to pay when picking up the items from the local post office.
I have to pay the sum of 23$ on 2 items worth 8$.
17 track displays the reason as: no delivery service for this product to thr specified measure.
The bag the items were delivered in is similar to many Aliexpress items I received earlier.
If I leave the package at the office will they ship it back?

I heard a similar story. Basically it seems that Libanpost get "special treatment". That's what it looks like.

When your items are shipped as a "parcel", libanpost does that.
Ask the seller to use a standard shipping and not a parcel using China post. As the receiver you can't see the difference until liban post calls you.

Any idea how long will it take them to ship it back if I don't pick it up.

Yeah they tried this move with me as well, since then i started using my workplace address, they don't mess with company deliveries, I've had them say "no one picked up" excuses on personal addresses and they charge me 5,000 for it, after i started using a company address their delivery effort is guaranteed, plus there's always someone else to pick it up for you, I've noticed faster delivery dates as well.

Anyways, i still didn't figure out how to ask companies to send packages through libanpost

If you are a frequent purchaser from china, just get a P.O Box in Liban post near you for arround 100,000 LBP per year or so and you can be sure you won't pay an extra dime as fees..
