  • Black Mirror - a series to watch

Anyway, there are a lot of good shows out there (and many many more crappy ones lol), but distribution and finding an outlet to watch them here, is the hard part. If we had decent internet, I would subscribe to Netflix in an instant ($12 a month which include 4k streaming--$8 for basic no HD). Their library keeps growing, and since they produce a lot of their own shows, there is no problem with distribution. Shows like the aforementioned Black Mirror, the Marvel shows, Stranger Things (another really good show btw), Arrested Development, and House of Cards are streamed on there. OSN has a few channels that play newer stuff, but options are still limited. If someone were to subscribe to the actual OSN, instead of the local distributers, you could watch shows on demand, but that also depends on having a decent internet connection. Bein offers sports packages with streaming options, but same issues with internet abound. Too bad Hulu doesn't have plans for international distribution--they would have been a good all encompassing option. Amazon streaming is another good option ($3 per month for the first 6 months), but, again, see aforementioned internet issues.

As for other scifi shows, I really like the Expanse---it had a well written first season with multiple storylines intertwining and clashing together. Season 2 starts in a few weeks.

samer wroteI've lost sleep over Black Mirror. It made me realize that as someone working in technology, I am at least partly accountable for the direction that we are heading to as an industry. I also think it is an important piece of film that helps communicating to the mainstream the potential dangers of modern technology.
Samer, I just watched White Christmas episode of the series and I am genuinely disturbed and I will NOT be getting sleep tonight. You work in this industry, how many more years until such technology displayed in that episode will be available? I am annoyed and am worried about the future.

Yes sir the egg shaped AR device whereby you can create another version of you and play with the time and emotions in order to deduce information that you cannot get from the normal human. That is just mind blowing. Although the Zen eyes were a cool addition, I could have definitely used that in high school for the ladies.

I watched your video. It was (thank god) not as disturbing as BM; it seemed as if our smartphone displays were being installed into our vision and we will become a smart and advanced homescreen. This is all too much for an average joe like me, but I am worried deeply for the next generation. I do not know if they will feel that bad though, as this current life we are living in will be just a myth and it is a continuous cycle from cavemen, until today. Anyway that is just me verbalizing my mental process. Thanks Samer for the interesting video and please do keep posting interesting hyper reality links!
