Generally speaking, you can only get a TS in your field of studies. However, the TS studies are divided into 2 years: TS1 and TS2. TS1 has a general prerequisite of earning a "Technical Baccalaureate or Academic Bac 2" while TS2 can only be gained after completing a TS1 in electronics or mechanics (off of Byblos Institue website). So I think it's very possible concerning the proximity of the field of studies and the fact that in high school (i.e. Academic Bac 2), students don't learn much about electronics so how is it that they can complete the TS program as well? Makes sense... at least to me.
Anywho, being the over cautious woman that I am, I visited the
Vocational Training official website set by the Ministry of Education and downloaded both curricula to compare them and see where the difference lies. Will relay my feedback later on.
But I guess the fastest way to know is to call whatever
public or private institute you plan on joining and straight out ask them. I mean in the end it's their call, right?
Just my 2 cents.
