So!
Are Sony and samsung new TVs in Lebanon or the boats are still trapped in Bermuda Triangle?
Lol Lebanon is stuck in Bermuda. In electronics, we pay alot for outdated or refurbished items.

Tech Guru wroteCongratulation mate. Oh that is a bit overpriced , I did a probing tour towards Khoury Home 2 days ago and they have the 65Uh850V less than that. I will most probably go with A Sony x800D or I will pay more and go with a Samsung KS8000 or 8500. None are released till now in Lebanon , hopefully on New Year I will get some good news, since Sony (Fattal) has only the 55 inchs X 850D , x970 D and Samung has the KS 9500 Series , Khoury on its new order they told me they will include the 65UH850v , they do have the Lg 950 series but I guess it is overpriced compared to competitors from Sony X940D or Samsung KS 9500. I think you should have gone with the Samsung 55 inch KS 9500 @ 2500 USD that features a true 10 bit panel , and an LG OLED like the E6 or B6 or C6 are great alternatives too.

The Reasons why I did not went with the u850V from LG:

Not a 10 bit Panel , 8bit + dithering = some color banding issues on HDR and less P3 Color Space Coverage for Wide Color Gamut compared to Native 10 Bit Panels.

3 HDMI Inputs , only One accepts 4k HDR or 4K HDR 4 4 4 Single.

For gaming , I seek a low input Lag and on 4K HDR the Lg UH 850V reports approximately 65- 70ms.

Sony / Samsung Up-scalers are more versatile.
Thank you.
You are completely right. But I have a different point of view when I bought this tv I was looking for all the features including passive 3d. To be honest I never looked into sony since I saw these tvs on khoury home are very pricey(as I remember), despite the tempting Android OS.
And as i mentioned before,I tested the differences between the 850 and 950 with hdr 10bits movies (not dolby vision) I didn't find a huge difference if any (knowing about the panels made me skeptical but couldn't confirm the difference). I recommend you redoing that test with a 10bit hdr movie (not dolby vision, an hdr notification should appear while starting the sample). I would like to get some feedback from you regarding this. not sure about sony but lg supports both hdr formats unlike other TVs and you'll probably hate that your new tv is not capable of playing all formats.

For me, this tv is temporary, I am buying some time till Oled comes way cheaper. HDR oled is the ultimate solution.
AS you have said OLED HDR is the ultimate solution for real , those OLED Screen of LG 2016 Lines in the show room are so damn gorgeous. I used to have an LG TV 1080 Cinema 3D, passive solution is very comfortable with cheap not shutter type of glasses/ and on the Uh850V model you will benefit a 1080p resolution for each eye which looks things very crisp while watching 3D 4K Movies.
elserge82 wroteDid you buy a tv or not yet?
I did a very deep comprehensive research today :

I am re-leaning towards the Uh850V according to Rtings.com A 10bit TV panel can sometimes performs worth than an 8bit+dithering TV Panel , which is not a big issue to me especially on the Smart Features that TV is offering (Dolby Vision and Passive 3D with True 1080p for Each Eye). Input Lag of 60ms on 4k +HDR is sort of acceptable too. The looks of the tv with the metal frame , back white , and very thin bazel looks awesome too with a curved stainless steel stand compared to Sony X800D plastic one. For backlight bleeding you can set Local Dimming to High in order to minimize some bleeding.

My only concern I need you to validate to me ,as an owner of this tv, please:

This TV has 3 HDMI inputs ( the three are HDMI 2.0a Compatible) does the Three Supports HDR on 4k/60hz as such I can plug a PS4 Pro and My PC on two HDMIs that support HDR. Sure I will Enable HDMI ULTRA Deep Color.

Does the LG showroom@Debayeh has the 49inch variant.

Thank You Mate

This link shows that there are 3 hdmi2.0a
I cannot perform the test you requested since I'm using skylake vga . Waiting for kabi lake.
I played hdr 60 hz 4k over lan and usb. My pc can't handle these formats. When i bought my tv, Lg didn't have other than the 65 inches variant.i can contact them if interested .
By the way , you havet to choose on hdmi ports hdmi ultra colors or the cec-hdmi feature ( for chromecast definitely cec, for pc hdmi ultra color)

Well mate I downloaded the user manual for the uh850v , nothing is mentioned which HDMI port accepts HDR signal from a technical prespective. Iam now 95 % leaning to pull the trigger and go with the uh850v, the 5 % is being very skeptical about this issue in particular. You need an HDR source for testing. May you confirm with LG , hoping their technical people are aware on the hdmi ports thing. Simply ask them from a technical prespective I can plug an HDR source on any of the 3 HDMI inputs , the three can receive an HDR signal or only one out of three or two out of three. In other termrs are three ports are 10bit ports.

You may My Tell They I need to connect both my PC through 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 and in the Future a PS4 pro through 4K 60hz HDR. For Example on the Sony X800D only 2 out of 4 (HDMI port 2 & 3) accepts that formats.

May you please confirm with them when the 49inch variant will be available. An expected ETA - Estimated Time of Arrival /Time Range (Some rumors say on Christmas Vacation) .

For a Proactive aprroach from their side: You may tell them my friend is interested to get a UH850V I recommended it to him but a 49inch Variant , as a customer to them they might hint to you since you purchased the TV from their show room. You may mention to them your name to recgonize you and tell them.

Appreciated Bro

I passed today to Khoury Home , and most probably I will be going with the Highest Series of Samsung KS 9500 a flagship of 2016 , 55 Inch + A Free Note 5 (32 GB Gold) + A Free Movable Mount and Assembly Mount and an Official CTC Warranty @ 2500 USD.

It is not affordable budget TV , but fully fledged with Ultra HDR Premium Certification , very positive reviews , deep blacks (for an LCD) , Quantum Display , 4 HDMIs with the four accepting a 10 bit signal (4K / 60 Hz HDR or 4 4 4 Chroma) , low input lag on 4K / 60Hz / HDR , Samsung One Connect Box for better cable management (especially when mounted on the wall).

Ultra HD Premium (few TVs has it)

2500$...Bro I want to work in your company :)
I pulled the trigger on Saturday and paid a deposit for Khoury Home to reserve for a 55 inch KS9500 ( 1 Item is available now with zero @ CTC Debayeh Stock) for USD 2500 with a Free Note 5 Gold

Actual Price: 2500 - 400 (Assuming the Average Price of a Note 5 These Days is 400 USD or may be above) = 2100 USD with a movable VESA mount.

I took the final decision and went with the KS9500 due to several factors:

- Very Positive Reviews on tech channels and websites (Rtings , 4k.com, HDtvTest etc..) , and Users Feedback on AvForums etc..)

-Best of the Alternatives for 2016 Lines from Big Brands in Lebanon and ambiguous ETAs for screens size (I was aiming for 49 Inch to 55 Inch Max) or more affordable solutions like the Sony X800 D or KS 8500 (They have the mediocre KU 7350 for USD , Sony X850D and x940D , LG uh 850v and 950v). The KS9500 comparatively LGs and Sony's available high end alternatives has the one connect , lowest input lag , best HDR performance , and 4 HDMIs input that accepts a 10 bit signal , very nice design , best gray uniformity , best blacks and contrast ratio , widest color Gamut for HDR, highest brightness , and very good motion handling - I did a y very detailed research about each alternative and I reached Sony and LG Support teams directly. Price wise it is not very far either , even the Sony X850D asking price is for USD 1500 (not the X940d) , 2100 - 1500 = 600 USD difference , but the KS 9500 is far better.

-Actually when I was in the show room , before the final decision , I considered an OLED alternative for USD 2500 , but none 2016 is available from LG (B6 and C6 is the most affordable) and strikingly the 2015 Lines were 2500 + with a mediocre HDR. Yep OLEDs provide infinite contrast ratio and very deep gaps , but they also have retention and input lag problems , with Ultra Premium HDR the color production gap is even closer between an LCD VA Panel on the KS and the OLED Panel.

-Therefore , I found the KS is a versatile TV from different functionalities with an even performance across the board (Color Quality , Input Lag , Gray Uniformity , Blacks , Contrast , Brightness , Handles Motions , Upscale Very Well none 4K Contents , HDMI Inputs sIgnals and Looks (zeros bezel design - 1st TV in 2016 that has this seamless design ) , yes it has its shortfalls (No 3D , No Dolby Vision HDR Support, Edge Back Lighting not Full Array ) but not so striking to jeopardize my experience when I am Gaming on 4 k / 60 hz + HDR , Watching HDR 4k Movies , Watching Sports , Watching 24p Movies , Plugging and Gaming on my PC at 4 4 4 Chroma with HDR , Plugging the upcoming PS4 Pro I will have soon etc .. ). Thus for 2016 alternatives from other brands , Good Price , TV Features / Capabilities , Full HDR Support I considered it the 2016 Flagship to consider with 4 - 5 years life cycle since 4K HDR is still fresh (few games , few movies) etc.. and this TV is ready for the future comparatively with 2015 JS Series or Sony Alternatives

- And I always say You Only Life One , no regrets at all. Enjoy life your way and pamper yourself.

Mabrouk. You went for one of the best TVs but you've missed the word affordable.
Again mabrouk
