  • Is the Lebanese Lotto a scam?

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out something lately.
It seems that in the Lebanese Lottery, the balls are always placed in order, then jumped down in the same exact way every single time with a high chance of being at rest inside the giant transparent sphere in the same spot.

Now that they're at rest, the air starts flowing inside, if there is no technical errors, the balls should theoretically have the same amount of force applied to them in the same direction every single time.

Think of it of a 3D simulation which you had ran several times with just tiny fragments of changes. It will give you several winning balls of course, but it should at some point give you the same ball numbers at least once.

I've been skeptical ever since there was this one time a guy won the lottery then a few minutes after it they had put a video of how it was his first time buying a lottery ticket and winning. How the hell did they prepare for that video anyways if they didn't expect him to win?

Side note: I've heard speculation that they have different weighted balls that helps them select the winning balls. I doubt this one but it is a possibility. After all, we do live in Lebanon.
Nothing surprises me in this country, it's always people from the same background who win, most of times someone who is directly or indirectly linked (son of someone who is) to the government or a deputy...

Hey!

Hmm....haven't heard of one case of someone who is directly or indirectly linked (son of someone who is) to the government or a deputy winning the lottery :/ and alot of random people do win it.

Is it a scam?? Well the only reasonable way I think it could be a scam is if they select the least balls/numbers chosen and rig the system so it chooses those balls/numbers, that way chances of winning become extremely low .... Or I might be wrong and the whole thing is random *snickers*

I've had an idea in mind the other day to put all the past winning numbers into a machine learning algorithm and see how accurate its predictions are ..... I am running low on dough maybe I should do this sooner xD

Then you should try another country maybe... until you feel the same again!
Well, a friend of mine got offered to "Win" the lottery tickets if he so decides to give it back to them and take a commission. He took it all, ran away and trouble issued he got in jail and eventually gave the money back. I haven't seen him to get a lot of detail if it was an unclaimed ticket or they gave him a winning ticket.
On the other hand, i have also a friend who won it and had nothing to do with anything illegal.

As for your theory, we do have balls that have a higher probability of being selected than others, but i highly doubt you could simulate it and actually obtain the numbers as the randomness and factors in the process are quite huge. Think of dust in the air, electrical power fluctuations, rotation top speed variation etc etc .... Even if the starting position is always the same.
No! They are too dumb to manipulate such processes.
Follow up: thinking about it, the machine might be malfunctional. And they are not aware of that.

Well yes, they might be dumb, but I don't think they would mind sparing a couple bucks to some engineer to think all of this through for them.
Why on earth would they rig the lottery? They make far more money than they give away.

even if they make a lot of money some company will fake it out
Of course it is rigged. "LEBANESE LOTTERY" is "ELVIS PRESLEY" spelled backwards. Coincidence? I don't think so!

you made me read it backwards...

Some people are greedy.
Most people are greedy, specially when they see lots of money.
Then It's not a matter of I need, but a matter of I want more.
