The New GTX 1070 from MSI

Hello guys, So wanted to check if there is any place yet to buy the MSI gtx 1070 , i know Macrotronics has it but its extremely overpriced... pcandparts do...

Like 4 months ago i asked them about a 144hz monitor, it was around 900$, got it for 510 from somewhere else.

NAM wrotespotnet has the 1080 and 1070 .. 1600 and 800 $$$$$$$ respectively .. i almost had a heart attack when he told me the prices so casually

They actually told me the 1080 was for $1300. It's like they have no idea what the prices are in the rest of the world.

Been testing the card for the last couple & days. It is awesome how cool it runs & whisper silent. TORX 2.0 is great , running in OC mode , a real major upgrade from 970 to 1070 , sweet spot for this card is 1440p. 2160p is very possible by dailing down AA & Very to High ~ 45 fps in Witcher 3

I can confirm that pcandparts is getting a few 1080s atleast .. my friend has requested from them one and they will deliver next week .. i think they will charge near a 1000$ for it but am not sure.
Any one else who is not in a hurry join massdrop and get it from them for 720$ without tax (expected delivery is september) also tomorrow is your last chance.

Well Mate on Demanding AAA Titles such as GTA 5 , Witcher 3 - Ultra with 2xMsaa for 1440p & High with FXAA for 2160p knowing that I didn't upgrade yet my monitor to 1440p (
PG279Q I might be getting the PG348Q. I am using DSR I think is a bit taxing compared to native resolutions due to super-sampling & filtering techniques it used. Very satisfied with the upgrade it puts my old 970 (Heavily Custom OC) in the shadows.

For native 4K , HDMI 2.0 through the TV I will try it soon, I might witness some input lag but worth the try. The i7 4790 is not bottleneck at all.

Buddy , is that a special order or in stock order - what edition he bought (custom or Founder Ed.) Keep us posted on the final price & type. 1000 USD is steep for a 1080 OC Custom , even. If that is the scenario this validate my point that PC&Parts prices will be around 35% higher than prices out of Lebanon (mainly USA) - case similar the majority of other local computer shops.

with 4k 27 inches no you don't. I can vouch for that as this is the res I'm running. you can put AA x2 if you want to wipe all jagged edges even if u bring ur face close to the screen. but at normal distances no AA is needed.

at 2k you do need AA but to a lesser extent than 1080p. I don't know how much exactly as I am running everything on highest when I am testing 2k.

It's hard to explain without visual aid. comparing 4k with 2k:
at 4k the entire image is in your face more, like really in your face. You feel everything is so sharp and stands out. If let's say you are standing infront of a tree in a game and you look at it.It's not that you will see more things in 4k no. you will see the same detail. The difference in detail only shows if lets say you are looking at snow, or sand. you can see individual grains. Also objects that are far away look clearer. Those two scenarios are where the differences are most obvious. but the rest of the time, the most obvious difference is how much "in your face" the image can be! Don't under estimate how much of an effect that has! It's the little things that show more detail.The curves on the tree trunk may look the same, you can see them at both resolutuons. However, they will have more depth to them at 4k.everything seems to have different depths, like looking from a window not at a flat picture.It's layer after layer after layer of depth.Not in the actual number of details you see,unless its a far away object or something so small like sand or snow. I hope I'm making some sense.

yes I get it, I saw 4k only once, it was a tv on display and it was showing a live view from a camera set in a city, it was like looking outside a window! O.O

This makes me wonder why people buy 23" monitors that are only 1080p. 96ppi is way too low.

Didn't notice that, you're right! when you add to cart and look at your cart you see it, and yeah overpriced!

Exactly.. i checked computeruniverse.net, its cheap : 436 Euro vat excluded. Without taxes it would cost about 510$ ( Including vat + shippings + some fees ) , but not sure how much they would take taxes at the airport. They don't have any quota for such things , they just estimate a number, and varies alot even for a same item.

So waiting pcandparts wasn't a good idea aftearll.
The only card they shipped are Zotac, Those as i saw they have a higher power consumption , the amp extreme is a fat ass with 1.4kg of weight and its really thick !

so seems we need to order online lol
