LifeEngineer wroteHonestly disappointed once again... :( Damn you HTC... I'm trying to love you but you're not letting me...
Superb camera
Superb screen
Superb Audio
Metal design by HTC at least back and sides
What are you disappointed in??

Personally the only thing I didn't like is that they replaced HTC apps like Gallery and Music by Google ones
Hehehe man... In a world with nokia 3310 around i'll be amazed...

In our world with LG G5, s7 and s7edge around, it's just meh... No waterproofing... No actual front facing speakers... No standing features or selling points... Screen, camera and battery will be like any other phone. Nothing to write home about.

So please do tell me, why would I get this over the s7 edge?!
Honestly trying to find some good reasons, but I can't. Bigger screen, a looker, classy and edges, bigger battery, more features, etc...
Why?
-S7 Edges are useless, they make it fragile
-Glass back is very fragile and slippery compared to metal of 10
-Audio is poor on S7 edge, for quality and loudness.
-Waterproof? for what? unless you swim with your phone I don't see why on earth waterproof is a needed thing
-Touchwiz UI...really bro??
And so we say goodbye to each other, Betty (aka my M9)(yes, I nickname my phones, don't judge me), you've been a fantastic servant even though you were a hand warmer with a shite camera.

Good to see they've textured the power button and switched to a volume rocker instead of two volume buttons that are just above the power button that's barely textured, that thing was hell in the first few months.
So basically does HTC 10 have the same camera of the nexus 5x and 6p or a better one?

It will be expensive the 1st weeks (as usual) over here
Expect 700 to 800$ the first week, better wait a month more to get it at 500-550$

Better
DXOMark:
It has the same sensor with better equipment so it should be better.

Edit: I stopped taking DXOMark seriously when they put the Z5 on top of the list. That thing was disappointing.
That's not to say that they're wrong with the HTC M10, but I just think people should wait for their favorite reviewers or something before crowning it as the best.
The 10 is good, but for the mainstream user (not a techy) the S7 or S7 edge will almost always be picked over this. There's no wow-factor in the 10 and thats whats needed these days for people to upgrade their phones since the new models are slight incremental updates nowadays, not much difference with predecessors.

There is a wow-factor in the 10, even the M9 had a wow-factor, I guess it's the all-metal construction or just HTC phones not being as mainstream as Sammies and iPhones.

Metal construction is not a wow factor anymore. Every phone maker is going metal.

Overall the phone is good, but not the savior HTC despertly needs
Yeah people were waiting for a mobile phone that makes coffee and iron your shirts :)
HTC fans are over-satisfied and all previews from all websites are very positive (it was the total opposite last year), the 10 will most certainly be the king of Android 2016 once the reviews are out, the camera is incredible specially with low light

I've learned my lesson with the M9, never buying a phone so early after its release.

To a degree, you are correct, but apart from iPhones and the G5 (and maybe some Chinese phones) I don't think any manufacturer uses a metal unibody for their phones. Samsung, for example, still uses glass at the back of their devices, and while it's better than plastic, it still doesn't feel as premium as the metal on HTC phones or iPhones.

It looks like a pretty good phone, I'm still waiting for the reviews and comparisons between it and the G5. It's a pioneer of some sorts by having OIS on the front camera and, albeit I don't buy a phone solely for its camera, the camera on the HTC 10 is a good selling point. There's also the new Sense which seems like a streamlined version of stock Android, not that that interests me but it might interest some people looking to get an Android but still want the more streamlined experience that an iPhone offers.
What do you think would be better: the HTC 10 or the upcoming HTC Nexus?
Am I the only one who loves his hassle-free iPhone? O.o
The only reasons I use a smart phone are Whatsapp and to ssh into my computer if Xorg misbehaves.
I haven't used a recent HTC but I think their main selling point is the strong build.

No, me too! But I always like Android devices a lot for customization. Usually I always have an Android device lying around for when I get bored of my iPhone.

edit: just saw the 10 is 9.0mm thick. I don't really care about thickness but it's really strange that HTC weren't able to fit a larger battery than 3000mAh in such a thick phone (by today's standards). By comparison, the S7 edge with a 7.6mm body thickness has a 3600mAh battery.

HTC Nexus, for sure. Nexus phones always have great reviews and are very solid phones, get updates to the new versions of Android first (duh) and stock Android is always a huge plus. Only reason I don't carry a Nexus is that I have a habit of getting a new phone in late April to mid May, and Nexus phones always come out in the fall.

It's because of the camera module, it has big pixels size so it needs more space or else it would protrude too much at the back, as long as it's under 1cm I have no problem
