HTC M10 information central
- Edited
There is also another important feature that is present in all other brands (Samsung, LG, Sony, Nexus) except the iphone but missing in the HTC 10: its is the RBG notification light and the ability to set different LED colors for different types of notifications. Unfortunately, it only flashes in green (maybe amber too?) on the HTC 10.
Don't HTC phones usually lack that? I think they only have green and red.

yeah unfortunately. such small details can make the user experience more enjoyable. They can do it very easily, but for some reason they chose not to!! someone moving from Samsung or LG or Sony will clearly miss it.hussam wroteDon't HTC phones usually lack that? Let's focus on the 10 information here, if we are gonna talk about negatives of the S7e and others phones to answer him we will get him what he want: flaming the thread.

Verdict
It might have lost its focus last year, but with the HTC 10, HTC is back to its best.
There are no headline features, no gimmicks – this is a phone that takes the core functionality of a smartphone and really nails it, not to mention offers an excellent audio and video experience.
It might be the underdog in a very competitive marketplace, but its performance more than holds its own.
Out of curiosity, what's with the outright oppression?
For God's sake , stop taking users for idiots. Have mercy on yourself and stop making them laugh at you. Accusing anyone who asks a question of being a Samsung fanboy only exposes how weak your argumentation is !vegetaleb wroteBro I told ya, he's searching for a needle in a haystack ;)hussam wroteDon't HTC phones usually lack that? It is really super easy to show your lies and how stupid and ridiculous your accusations are.
kfc wroteI think that most people in Lebanon buy Samsung phones just because it is the most widespread brand and is cheaper than iphone, and not because it is waterproof or has the best camera or is the richest in software features etc. I bet that 75% of people have no clue about all those details and thus dont make an informed buying decision.
kfc wroteThe 3 parameters that I care about the most are:
1- Look, design, size : HTC , Sony and Nexus are the best in that, Samsung the worst IMHO.
kfc wroteBy the way, I read on the net a review written by an iphone user and it looks like the phone is really good overall.
kfc wroteCompared to S7, HTC 10 seems to have:
- better design
- better software performance
- better audio
- better battery (compared to s7 but not s7 edge)
S7 has:
- better screen
- better camera
- richer software in features
- waterproof advantage
They are very close to each other, so it is a matter of personal taste and preferences. I would go for HTC 10.
kfc wroteWhat touchwiz feature make people prefer Samsung in your opinion?
I am an objective outsider who looks at the pros and cons of each phone and brand without any prejudice. You are an HTC cheerleader who rushes to silence and oppress everyone who dares ask a question or state an opinion that is different than yours. You have done this to several users in this thread and in others.kfc wroteHTC have been pretty consistent with the M7 , M8 and M9 but now they are doing a sort of transition. The change every 2-3 years doesnt bother me at all, on the contrary it is welcome. Sony, Apple and Samsung are quite boring with the same design that repeats itself every year.
Also I dont care whether buttons are soft or capacitive as long as they fit nicely in the general design of the phone.
I only wish HTC were more creative / original in the design of the front of the HTC 10. It looks a bit copied from Samsung and Iphone, cheap and unpolished.
I was in your place and i know what you mean and this is why i stopped posting at this thread because no matter what you say if it's something negative about the 10 than you're automatically an iphone or sumsang fanboy who understand nothing and your opinion is just objective to destroy the htc but if it's something positive you will be praised. So just do what i did and don't reply to this thread anymore. Let the htc fanboy live his dream.kfc wroteFor God's sake , stop taking users for idiots. http://www.stuff.tv/features/htc-10-vs-m9-vs-m8-should-you-upgrade#D65lk3OVXHIE5TAB.99If you bought your M8 on contract when it first came out you’ll be due a new phone around now, and the 10 will make the ideal new companion for you. It doesn’t look quite so pretty as the M8, but it’s still a good looking phone and the improved battery life, speed, camera and screen all add up to quite the upgrade. The fingerprint scanner is also a genuinely useful addition and overall there’s no reason not to. If you bought your M8 outright and it’s still working well then it’s a slightly harder call, but bear in mind that you can get £70-£80 for it second-hand and come on, do you really want to be seen out with a two-year-old phone?
The only reason I see for upgrading is when the old model stops getting android updates.
Topic cleaned up.

Something I haven't found about this phone is the RAM management. The S7 edge has horrible RAM management so if it's better on the 10, that alone might let me get it. My friend says apps reload even when you dont use them 5 minutes.
Anything out there has better RAM management than samsung! Sad truth coz I use a note 4! But it's still truth!Salloum wroteSomething I haven't found about this phone is the RAM management. Let your friend check that battery optimization option in "battery" section in settings, is turned OFF! This feature simply kills the apps in the background to forbid them from keep going! How stupid is that?!?! That's the best trick samsung could do...
GSMArena review is out (at last)
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_10-review-1434.php
The HTC 10 is a hit. It took the best parts of its previous flagship devices and refined them into a single package that will have the other competitors sweating.
The HTC 10 is a compelling device with lots of processing power, beautifully designed and sturdy hardware, great camera performance, fast and accurate fingerprint scanner, and excellent audio quality both via the speakers and the headphone jack.
HTC fans everywhere will be happy with the result, and they will be happy to become new owners. Especially if you are still hanging onto your HTC One M7 or M8, you will want to get your hands on the HTC 10. It is everything the M9 should have been and more.
We are getting to a point in the mobile industry where the line of compromise is fading away. However, that line is still somewhat visible in the HTC 10. Although the HTC 10 battery life was not bad at all, it still was a potential opportunity for the phone to improve as its competitors scored better in these tests. We also noticed some minor inconsistencies in the UI and there is a lack of prominent apps or software features that may tilt the scales further in its favor.
HTC 10 key test findings:
Excellent build quality, sturdy body, does not dent upon impact, only nicks the paint. A teeny bit on the heavier side.
Sharp 5.2 inch QHD screen delivers pleasantly punchy and vibrant colors. The software lets you tune the color accuracy to your personal preference. Sunlight visibility is not bad, but other competitors have it better.
At a 66h overall score, battery life could be better. Especially when direct competitors have been scoring significantly better in similar tests.
Fingerprint scanner could potentially wake the phone unintentionally but is quick and accurate nonetheless. The unintentional wake-ups can be avoided by deactivating the sensor's wake up feature.
HTC Sense 8.0 is the leanest version of HTC's Android skin we've seen so far. Bloatware was kept to a minimum and HTC got rid of duplicate apps for Google's apps offering.
Processing power is among the best-performing smartphones to date. Using it excessively could occasionally cause the phone to become very warm.
BoomSound speakers deliver a rich and immersive audio experience with less than stellar bass performance.
Built-in headphone jack has a dedicated amp that offers excellent audio clarity and minimal degradation with headphones.
Images taken with the HTC 10 have great detail and color accuracy, lower light photos look great. Front facing camera performs well for lower light selfies. Dynamic range overall could be a touch better.
Videos recorded by the HTC 10 Look great - detail is rich and lines are crisp, with the occasional shutter refocus.

New Prices at Amhaz: 720$ instead of 759$, I was expecting a bigger drop in price but it looks like it has a good popularity and Gomobile still didn't bring it. When Gomobile will have it (2-3 weeks) it will certainly be under 650$.

HTC 10 update gives camera a boost before launch
http://www.technobuffalo.com/2016/05/02/htc-10-camera-update/
HTC is rolling out an update to European models of the HTC 10 today. Big whoop, right? It’s not even on the market yet. Well, this is a bit of a big deal, since it issues improvements to software following industry-wide reviews of the smartphone, including our own.
The update, software version 1.30.401.1, delivers, specifically, “performance enhancements” for the camera, improvements to Wi-Fi and changes to improve overall system stability. Here’s a better look at everything included:
1. Improved WiFi connectivity, including Smart MIMO
2. Camera tuning
Auto HDR improvements (from 1.88 to 1.67EV)
Low light sharpness/brightness improvements Outdoor sharpness improvements
Reduced purple noise in Pro mode
Modified laser autofocus UI
3. Bug fixes
We didn’t have any particular qualms with the HTC 10 camera, but have generally favored the shooter on the Galaxy S7. Usually, so long as a manufacturer uses a high-end camera module, as HTC did in this case, software tweaks can make a really big difference. This is good news for folks who might have had some minor concerns about camera quality leading into the launch of the smartphone.
The HTC 10 will begin to ship next week in the U.S., and we suspect HTC will continue to offer smaller updates such as this to keep everything performing up to standard. It’s certainly a phone worth looking forward to, even if you already had you eyes set on a Galaxy S7.
