We all know who was planning to get fiberoptics into the country from Cyprus and who opted to stay with copper cables. Shame really that we're literally at the very bottom tier of internet connectivity speeds. Not only are people getting slow speeds, but the infrastructure is in an equally appalling state (rotten/damaged cables etc.) which further complicate the issue.
In 2013 they said that Lebanon's internet speed would rise to 20mbps and until today not much has been done, and if memory serves me right the fastest residential internet speed is currently 16mbits (UPTO).
Real shame. We need tons of investment in proper infrastructure but this won't happen if we can't even manage GARBAGE. There's really very little hope in this regard imo.
