AVOlio wroteGuys, what is the current status of this case?
Any articles or preferably news videos about the ending?
Is the animal still loose, what about the wife and the family.
Tarek Yatim has reportedly been arrested by Army Intelligence and handed over to the military police.
A scientific investigation is ongoing concerning the crime. Can't share details about that.
Someone told me that his wife has received monetary support from our society, but I can't confirm that.
Anyway, I quickly passed through the scene of the stabbing today to check out the road barriers. Some were filled with garbage, I think a few had mostly sand in them (which is actually another really good option, throw a handful at the eyes to cause incapacitation and disorientation), and surely enough, others were completely empty. The empty ones were big but also pretty light; I could move one around with ease.
DNA wroteman with all my respect to you and your opinion, but the option you provided is actually funny and doesn't have any common sense and is more suited for an Indian movie or something like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS5_Z0LsPnE.
Fully expected someone to make a Rambo exaggeration. In turn, I'll offer a real world comparison that's far less ridiculous and much more applicable: makeshift riot shields. As a matter of fact, people have used road barriers as shields before, although with some modifications, as in these two examples (
1,
2). No Rambos needed. Again, just a bit common sense, which seems to be lost on people like you for some reason.
DNA wroteTo be honest, you expect lots of events to turn up as planned while it is very easy and more likely that it won't ..what if he didn't drop the weapon but rather when you rammed him he stabs you, what if no one helped you pick up the water block in the first place, what if he saw you charging him and simply stabbed you since obviously your hands are carrying the water block and you can't do nothing lol ...
man are you serious you need two men to carry a 50kg road block full of water and move slowly toward an armed man and ram him with it to cause some "PAIN" and he will never notice it or defend back? dude are you serious
Yes, I'm serious. Now please calm your tits. This is why I said that nothing is certain, but I carefully laid out the rationale behind using the barrier and ramming. I'm assuming that you've never tried to ram someone, which is why you put so much doubt into it. I've used the technique before to break up some fights involving glassware and a bit of drunkenness, and it worked flawlessly 100% of the time. What happens is that the guy is always forced to back off. Also, you'd be mistaken to think that the guy's priority response is to stab your hands. For one thing, it's a fast attack (the things weigh much less than 50 kg) that doesn't give him the time to think logically and act with due precision. For another, if he tried he would be knocked down and would lose the knife instantly, which is exactly what you want to achieve. Self-defense classes teach this. Now I'm not claiming that everyone would know this, but I'm just putting this out there for those who think that nothing could've been done in that situation.
DNA wrotei have interfered in solving fights and separating the parties many many times, it usually takes couple guys to rush towards the fighting guys and simply grabbing them apart with some force and shouting, it works most of the time
this case is totally different the guy has a knife and ISN'T HESITATING TO USE IT and obviously has the intention to KILL, look up the previous murder by Tariq and his friend there is a video on the internet.. someone rushed to save the guy being beaten was shot as well. so no acting as a hero doesn't always work in real life, and it is proven not to work in tariq's case.
Good for you, man. I'm not keen on relating these two incidents together, because the circumstances are completely different. Also, I can't claim to know what to do in every situation.
DNA wrotei said it previously you can say whatever you like now and i am 100% sure that if you were there you wouldn't have interfered you can't speak for everyone else speak for yourself what could have YOU done? let me ask you how many times in your life you witnessed a fight ?? how many times you interfered to solve this fight and not just be a bystander or rush out of the way?non? ok this case is MUCH HARDER go figure...
Nice, you say "speak for yourself" and then assure me on what I could've or couldn't have done. Hypocrisy much?
No,
you speak for
yourself, dude. If you don't know what to do, it doesn't mean that others don't. Get over it.
DNA wroteman a knife is as dangerous as a gun, in USA a guy got shot by police for carrying a screwdriver because a screwdriver can KILL if someone has the intention to do so. gun and knife almost same thing in the wrong hands.
Are you seriously using police brutality as a legitimate example now? You might as well have referred to the Gaza flotilla raid of a few years back. "THEY HAVE SCREWDRIVERS AND WRENCHES! SHOOT THEM ALL!" There is such a thing as disproportionate use of force, but following your reasoning, it would seem that the clash between the Turks and Israelis would've ended in a draw. Oh right, it didn't.
Gun and knife are obviously NOT the same thing. Don't insult our intelligence.
DNA wrotebut you suggested causing injury too with the roadblock but in a much harder and risky way lol..you are against using a weapon to injure or threat him, but you guys think it is ok to ram him with a 50kg roadblock isn't that a weapon or yet worse run him over by a car, that's actually much worse than a bullet in the leg??!! lots of contradiction here guys...
You don't have to injure him, even though you can. That's not even your goal, and pain compliance is different than injury. It's not like you'd be crushing him or anything.
There are no contradictions whatsoever. You just can't seem to be able to grasp the concept at all.
DNA wrotewhy do you think police carry guns if they can throw roadblocks at armed murderers?
Not all police carry guns. The UK police normally carry a baton, a taser, pepper spray, and a stab vest; adequate enough to deal with someone holding a knife, screwdriver, or whatever fancies your tickle. Firearms are a completely different story, though apparently not to you it seems.
DNA wrotesince weapons weren't available to anyone, and no one is willing to lose their life i still think that NOTHING could have been done, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the bystanders effect.
The feeling of helplessness contributes to the bystander effect.
Anyway, I think I've explained things enough to show otherwise. If you don't get it, you probably never will, or you'll just have to learn it by yourself (I don't fault you, sometimes we all learn things the hard way).
MrClass wroteI bet now most people will begin carrying light weapons in their cars. Machetes, batons, and metal chains; maybe even a taser on a stick (with a bluetooth remote control)
Good idea. My lady friend keeps a baseball bat in her car, and I always carry a
trainer butterfly knife (no sharp blade) in my pocket which is legal and very dangerous if used correctly (thank goodness that I've never had to use it so far).
