Yes it will be a better deal for you mate. At the end this is your right you are not doing something out " the norms & polices" you are an end user at the end paying each penny. PC & Parts or even if you go to ASUS USA or any place , defective parts probability is there and this depends on the personality of the buyer - I am very picky with a risk adverse personality there fore I take such steps, some other end users are less and some simply do not care if they see the " warranty" label on their invoice or box , they will be physiologically relaxed. But in general warranties in the Electronic World "PC Components , Mobiles, Home Entertainment, House Hold etc..) are simply a "Hit or Mess" process because the majority of shops /warehouses / shows (say what you like to name them) we are resellers here or even a re-re sellers ; there mitigating the risk as you can initially by doping the maximum efforts will minimize the headache later (especially of the electrical/electronic components) get damaged with in the 1st year of warranty (example after one house) ; most Lebanese resellers will blame either your setup ; usable electricity ; PSU ; UPS; damaged while you installing it ; building generator ; etc... But in all cases they eliminate the probability of same sample are defective ; get humidity ; improper handling upon unpacking of the shipment etc... (may factors they can be a shipment error not always a Manufacturer defection) aside with the assembly lines here and there.
