Die_Kapitan wroteAbout the camera, it performs well in a sunny environment as long as the sun isn't in the picture, if the sun is in the picture, the camera tends to underexpose everything.
that's normal all digital cameras do that.
Try using HDR as it takes multiple pictures at different exposures and combine them into one, it should be very handy in such situations
Yo finally swapped my S6 with a gorgeous M9 grey :)
Apart the camera everything is better on M9
:)
I tried RAW with sunny situation this time...well it's as good even slightly better than the S6!!!
With Jpeg you have to follow hamdir's tutorial + my magic touch (add sharpening later in Photoshop or Lightroom) but the white balance is too fake, HTC must correct it

It would have been normal if it does this with just the sun, it does this with practically every strong light source, frankly, I don't care
how much was the m9. im considering selling my note 4 and trying an HTC phone.

I bought it for 650$ two weeks ago.
I traded my HTC M8 for a Nokia Lumia 930. It was my first Android phone and expected a good experience. Couldnt bear it in the last 2 months. I have to say Android is not optimized at all; no wonder why these phones need super specs just to try to bring a good experience to the user. They have to stop making so many Android ports and should begin focusing on some standardization. Java garbage collection needs to be optimized more; even if they throw 4GB or 8GB RAM, that doesn't solve anything. iPhones aren't better either; over hyped for nothing.

I had a Nokia Lumia 920 before and fell in love in WP8. Got a Lumia 930 and I couldnt be any happier. Everything is so snappy and looks amazing.

Believe me Nokia and Windows are underrated in the mobile phone market. You really get the best bang for the buck. Microsoft is doing its best and it cannot afford to lose; they are doing things so right.
I bought my M9 at 605$ last week, and I don't wanna know how much it's now :P
S6 price felt like a stone from an airplane!!

I would have liked Windows if it was less immersive. I'm a minimalist and I can't use Windows when I'm being bombarded with live tiles and notifications and compatibility between all the apps. I need drawers and icons.

Although I'm an android user but I'm not surprised at all because what you say is 1000% true!
However what's funny to me is that you had the m8 which, in my opinion, is the best android phone till 2014 era! (See mkbhd video of best phones in 2014).
Htc m7,m8 and m9 are hands down the smoothest android phones of 2013,2014 and 2015 and the most optimized ones. They may not be the fastest, but they are definitely the smoothest and best at RAM management android phones out there!
I compared neck to neck the m8 to the note 3, note 4 and oneplus one in raw performance (opening apps, loading etc...) and multitasking and it has smoked each of them! All of them having 3gb of ram while it has only 2!
I tried the new camera from 1.40 base on M9, Color balance is now even more accurate than on S6 and much more details than before in jpeg, the only advantage of the S6 is low light camera as it has the OIS, but personally I am much more a daylight shooter than low light

I've noticed that the M9's camera is formidable in shaded places where there is no direct source of light.
