  • Galaxy S6/S6 Edge Prices and Opinions

I made up my mind and i will be buying the S6 Edge 64GB/128GB, unfortunately i screw up things when i need to buy a new upcoming phone (brought the note 3 when it first arrived for $900) and buy it without checking other prices (and if needed i would preorder it online from abroad, i don't trust the resellers in our country) (note: samsungctc is a reseller and not the real thing). So from experience samsung devices tends to lose its hype after a while so the prices might go down. Do you think its worth the hype as the device might cost more than $1000 when it arrives.

TL;DR: Post the location and the price of the upcoming S6/S6 edge in Lebanon and your opinion if its worth buying it when it arrives.
For me I'll go with CTC since I trust their warranty even if they are reseller - Lebanon is full of Samsung Resellers and the price hoers 5-10% (-+) so not a big deal but the warranty what matters - if some Local shops have CTC stamp on their mobiles cover ; personally I will not go with either Class or Amhaz. but CTC is an authorized dealer. So best thing is to fill an online form and place a pre-order it will be in margin of 700+ for the S6 and 800+ for the Edge for the 32 GB expect they touch 900-1000 USD for the 64GB Variant.

After 3 months you will see the drop in prices by at least 20% ; technically from initial hands on the phone is a beast but upon official release more full technical reviews will be available especially battery stressing . I am a pure Samsung fan , I was disappointed by the S5 compared to S4 but Project 0 for the S6 make it more revolutionary so I placed an order.

Update: they called me today to confirm the reservation apparently they didn't read my message while I preordered the device I said 128gb and what do u know they only have 32gb for both edge and the normal one. No thanks I'll preorder thru online and pay the fees unless someone enlighten if there's another respective place to preorder it with either 64gb or 128gb s6 edge option.
I think prices will be something like this for the 1st month with CTC:
-S6 32gb : 700$
-S6 64gb : 790$
-S6 128gb : 900$
-S6 Edge 32gb : 850$
-S6 Edge 65gb : 950$
-S6 Edge 128gb : 1050$
Now for Amhaz prices, they will start the same but with a drop of price every week of about 20 to 40$.
S6 64gb will be in May in the 650$ with Amhaz

As CTC representative told me again with another phone call to confirm the previous statement, there are no 64/128gb versions of the phone in the first few months.
I would have pre-ordered but they're only selling the GS6 in white. They have the Edge in black but I don't want the Edge.

I was thinking of the Note 4 but I feel it's too big for me for daily usage.
I thought the same but last time I tried it at samsung showroom I could handle it one handed for most operations, from the reviews I saw the screen of N4 has even more accurate colors than S6.
The only thing that is not clear yet is whether the S6 has heredited same TW lags or not, even on N4 I hear different reports about LP update, the majority of users claimed it ironed out all lags even recent button, but still a very few are saying no.
Iphone 6+ is even slightly bigger than N4 btw ;)

I also tried it and it fit really well in my hands (I have big hands) but I'm worried that over time I will find it annoying. The only way I think I will get it is if the S6's battery is absolutely awful. The proper reviews haven't yet come out so I'll wait and see.
Any news about S6? Only the US got it until now, dunno why sammy is taking so much time for emea region, I guess it won't be here before 15th April?

It is already in Lebanon but only in the black market. Somebody bought one last week for around 3,000 dollars. Hopefully it was the 128GB Edge version, at least.
OMG! 3000$ to be the 1st! Of course it's a branded one (Tmobile or AT&T) as it was released only in the US.
But still it's a good news to know Amhaz is getting it already, the sooner they bring it the sooner the price will fall ;)

I bought the Note 4. Battery life is great, size is great, and I'm really happy with it. I tried holding my old S3 again and now it seems to small. I think the Note just spoiled me.

I might have waited for the S6 but the small battery plus the fact that it isn't removable and the fact that there is no SD card expansion really disappointed me. Samsung prioritized the premium feel over the functionality. But I guess they did their market research and this is what most people want. Not me.

I am waiting for the S6 official release for 2 things: try it head to head with the Note 4 (text sharpness is important to me), AND for the prices of S6 and Note 4 as N4 could see its price decrease once the S6 is officially launched.
S6 at CTC would be in the 700 to 750$ for the 32gb if they follow international pricing, Amhaz will be 50$ less in the first 2 weeks, then begin to drop every week of about 20 to 30$
S6 Edge will be overpriced for too long like the Note Edge which is still at 720$ 5 months later.
If anyone interested I will sell my M8 + dot cover once I switch to S6 or N4

The screen is really bright, especially if you set it to Auto. I have not tried running with it but I can imagine that if you are wearing lose shorts with it in your pocket, things will not go well. Also it's extra size means it will be a little more difficult to hold in your hand when you are running (I am assuming you use your phone to listen to music).

There is a used Note Edge at 550$ at elmazad with CTC warranty though it's the white version.
If it was black I would have seriously consider it
