Raficoo wroteI've been using the Note 4 since January and I simply love the phone!
I switched from a gift Nokia Lumia 720(which wasn't bad but was lacking in allot of things when it came to the OS)
I was in the same pickle before getting the phone, was thinking between the Z3 and the Note 4, I read alot of reviews, but one thing that I was focused on was that cameras
The z3's camera is pretty good(the quick camera button caught my eye), but it's the auto setting mode that kinda gets beat by other competition, since you gotta set it to manual mode to get the best results, but for me I don't wanna focus too much time on taking a pic, there might be a situation in which I need to take a pic quick, so I won't have time to adjust everything... that's one point why I picked the note 4
but it is correct about the Note 4 focus speed problem, it's good but sometimes you might have to try an extra time to get the right focus
Also in most reviews you'll see the Z3's panorama mode is weak compared to the Note 4
Also I loved the idea of a waterproof Z3, but then again I rarely go underwater. Because of the waterproofing, the speakers(which are pretty nice placed on the top as a stereo sound system) aren't as loud as the Note 4(which has a disadvantage since its speaker in on the back if you put the phone on a flat surface)
Also the removable battery of the Note 4 is another reason I picked it
4K resolution is also nice
The brightness is pretty good and I can use the phone normally in sunlight
since this is my first android phone ever I can't really compare between other phones but the stylus pen is pretty good, multitasking n all that is also a plus
the battery is also pretty good, normally lasts me about 1.5 to 2 days on normal usage and 2-3 days if you don't use it much
Fingerprint scanner is also a plus
I originally wanted to get the snapdragon variant of the phone, but I could only find the Exynos version, after comparing in which it turns out the Exynos is better when it comes to simply moving in the menu, but because of its GPU it might be a disadvantage in heavy games(which I don't play).. so I didn't care and went for it
one minor factor why I picked the Note 4 is also that I've noticed not many people actually sell Sony phones for some reason(some shops only bring them upon demand), it's not as popular as Samsung/Apple phones here, so later if I want to sell it it will be easier to find a buyer than a Sony phone.
overall the Note 4 might not be the perfect phone, but it's still a pretty damn good phone with high specs as of now.
I'm waiting to see what Sony will do with their Z4.
Thanks for the detail review!
I was afraid last year to get a Note 3 as it was still considered as monster size, but now that iphone 6+ is well sold , the Note 4 form factor is being accepted more and more, I will just have to adapt myself to use it with both hands, though since I use Dot view cover on my M8 I kinda use both hands already for my phone.
The Z3 sides are simply very class, no wonder why samsung copied them for S6
Even if M9 will get improved camera with software updates, I still don't know if I can accept the same design for a third year.
I will wait till 8th April at least to see what HTC is preparing, they said M9+ with 5.2'' or E9 with 5.5''.
Also I prefer to wait for S6 to see how prices will be for both S6 and Note 4.
Z3 use the same s801 as my M8 :/ so much for an upgrade!
Z3 can easily heat up too as I saw in reviews.
You are right about reselling phones, I never had problems reselling my HTC and samsung phones, it wasn't the same with the Sony Arc I had
