  • High Refresh Rate monitors in Lebanon

Hello guys,

Does anyone have any idea where I could find monitors with 120 Hz or 144 Hz refresh rates at 1080p, preferably BenQ or ASUS and how much would they cost? The model in mind is a BenQ XL2411Z which currently costs 280$ on NewEgg (although this isnt a reliable price for Lebanon) I just would like to know if any retailers in Lebanon exist selling such monitors.

Thanks in advance
Try CompuWorld, I think they're a BenQ re-seller.
280$ on newegg it will mean 400$ here (at this price you can have a 32'' FHD with low input lag)

32" 1080P would have a very bad pixel density, and it will be very frustrating to use it as a desk monitor. Not to mention that it will be 60Hz, which would make the whole hassle of getting the thing meaningless

For $440, you can grab a Qnix and ship it from Korea. a 1440P monitor. Some people managed to over clock it to 112Hz.

Also, if it's $280 on Newegg, it doesn't necessarily mean it's that much expensive here. I mean, there are lots of products that are only slightly more expensive.

can you provide a link of where to buy it from?
I'm not interested in 1440p as my hardware cannot handle it and I'm not upgrading anytime soon (GTX 760) I just want a name brand 144 Hz monitor such as ASUS or BenQ, and it doesnt matter as much as its sub 500$ range. I will give CompuWorld a call when I'm able to.

If anyone else has any other stores in mind INSIDE Lebanon, because I want to avoid the hassle of shipping to this god forsaken country.
Your best bet is to buy a 3D monitor?
Thing is the 3D monitors at 120Hz come at 1600x900 or they're passive 3D at 1080p @60Hz so they both dont meet my criteria

You could ship both the monitor and a better GPU at the same price. For $450, you can get a GTX970. or for an R9 280X for $350. (Reached to Lebanon). It's faster than a GTX 770, for the price of the 760. The GPU can still run plenty of games 60FPS 1440P on highest settings.
How and where can I do that from exactly?

The better sites on the internet all require PayPal which is banned in Lebanon or require a hassle with linking your CC to an external website that generates a virtual card which you can add funds to, assuming I have access to a credit card, which I don't. And I dont have any relatives outside Lebanon that can get me parts with them. Oh and dont get me started on AliExpress.

Besides I dont want a 120/144 Hz monitor for the image quality, or else I would have bought a 1440p screen ages ago. I only want it due to the low input lag and higher refresh rate which gives me a bigger competitive edge in Counter Strike, thats the point of this thread. My current GTX 760 is more than capable at maintaining 300 FPS on CSGO, so all I need is a good monitor to show me 144 of these frames instead of 60. So I just want a nice cool place in Lebanon where I can walk in with some money and out with a brand new 144 Hz GTG 1 ms response time screen :)
I didn't know you already had the card and wanted an advantage for CSGO.

Back to the topic:
Usually TN panels are faster and have less input lag. I suggest you Google some monitor model numbers and check their specs to see what their input lag is. Usually they're 5ms, go for something less. My old PX2370 has 2ms. They were pretty popular. Maybe someone might sell it to you. I have no idea if any 120+Hz monitors are available in Lebanon. However, like I said above. Try and call CompuWorld. I heard they had one of BenQ's gaming series monitors. LinusTechTips said they were pretty great.
@AvoK Yeah thats where I'm gonna start looking, at CompuWorld, and I dont know anyone else who has a 120/144 Hz panel, I have an IPS panel with 3 ms of input lag so its good but I need the higher refresh rate.
@MohammedSF Yeah I saw that monitor, my wallet started crying. The real innovation is that its an IPS monitor AND has very low input lag at 144 Hz, usually IPS panels have higher response time than TN and it gets worse at higher refresh rates.
Have you considered overclocking your monitor?
Currently I have an LG 22MP55 I just got it 4 months ago so I'm not really comfortable with overclocking it. But if you could refer me to guides or anything I'd give it a shot on my spare LCD screens. Also I have a CRT that I could play on 144 Hz but that would be at 1024x768 which is a killer.
@AvoK I managed to overclock my 1080p screen to 75 Hz, higher than that would give me a black screen saying that the pixel clock is out of range, I downloaded EDID overrides and tried pushing for 85 Hz, it gave me weird colors, frame skipping, etc.. so I'll settle for 75Hz difference is noticeable, will do till I get the screen I want.
Pcandparts had benq xl2420z and xl2720z last month.(440$'ish) they went out of stock in matter of days. I suggest asking them if they are restocking on high refresh rate monitors anytime soon. Also, did you ask Compuworld if they have gaming monitors?
That 760 wont be able to push more than 60-70 fps on other games than csgo btw. That is something to consider as well.
@Zahi I will run demanding games at 60 Hz and only CSGO at 144 Hz to get the comeptitive edge I need, I'm also looking to buy a 970 but since the monitor is less abundant then I'll get it first, which is logical. I also already emailed PC&P they said by the end of the month. Didnt get to ask CompuWorld though, got finals this week.
@Kapitan yeah I heard but Imm pretty sure its out of my price range :p
