Damn it!
I already put the money in the Esurf card today! I cant get it back!

Oh well, I want the Gigabyte Gaming card, they dont have it yet, and if they do,i think it will be overpriced.
Same here!
Bought my MSI Gaming GTX 970 4 days ago with Borderlinx, and it will cost me more than PcandParts (but just slightly).
Weird enough I don't regret it as nobody could know that they would have it before Christmas (people over Lebgeeks said not before 2015) and in such low price. Looks like MSI Lebanon/EMEA finally heard our complaints about overpricing here.
Also the status coming soon + limited quantity is no guaranty you will have it before Christmas, this status lasted more than a month for the new motherboards, price too can be raised once the product itself is here so perhaps it's just a marketing move to convince you to not buy it from abroad and wait that they bring it in a month or more at the listed price or more ;)
Nice move PCandParts, I wanna see the price of the Asus Strix 980...

I have 2 new/sealed Strix 980 and I'm lowering the price to 750$, if anyone interested just pm me.

Guys, that's what happened with me with pcandparts. As soon as I read (soon), I sent them an email telling them that I want to buy MSI Gaming GTX 970 when it arrives, and they said they will send me an email when it becomes available. I was checking their website daily, and I was surprised Tuesday afternoon to see on their website (now in stock) without sending me an email. I sent them an email on Wednesday morning and they took the address and everything ... only to realize later on an email from pcandparts saying that the GTX 970 is out of stock and there are few 980's left. Anyways, as I have been reading, the 980 is not much powerful than the 970, so do you suggest I wait for 970 or shall I go with the 980?
@PC_47 Go with the 970 OC I have using the MSI 970 Gaming for couple of months ; Back from October and it is working as a charm. What is your rig specification...

Do you mean that this http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-970-4GD5T-OC/dp/B00NN0GIA0/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1418991349&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+970+oc is better than this http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-970-GAMING-4G/dp/B00NN0GEXQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1418991349&sr=1-4&keywords=gtx+970+oc ?

I have i5-3330 3.0GHz, 8 GB RAM, Gigabyte 500W PowerRock PSU, Intel Motherboard DH61BF

How much the the MSI GTX 970 cost at pcandparts before it ran out of stock? Should I order the G1 from amazon or should I wait for pcandparts to restock?
Hahaha he's already out of stock?
I am sure he made people pay extra 50$ just to get it when they brought it in small quantities. he saw people are ''ma7rou2in'' to get it before Christmas so he brought 5 pieces and made them pay extras.
I think it was in the 480$ VAT included (+50$ for reservation), expect it to be in the 530 to 550$ when he will have them in stock till he sells all his GTX 660,670,760,770 and 780
Just got my GTX 980 G1 Gaming.
When i installed it, through the primary PCI slot where the previous 670 was installed, the pc did not boot!
Now i installed it in another slot, and its working.

Although, i did not notice ANY performance difference.
Specifically in BF4, Pearl Market map, which is a map that i always play on.
60+ fps in high settings average. goes down to 50-60fps when suppressed.
50-60fps in Ultra settings average, goes down to 30-40fps!! when suppressed, or when a cruise missile hits.

So much for the mighty 980 performance that i was expecting!

What could possibly be wrong in my system.
Cause i know for sure there are 970 users who get better fps than me.
So pcandparts are out of MSI GTX970s and other shops in lebanon are too expensive. I figured I could buy it for 350$ from newegg and have it shipped to libanpost's po box then routed back to lebanon. Any ideas what are their handling fees and customs fees (I guess they have some sort of agreement with the customs office) ? -

Service is called EasyShop (Can't post links)

Or should I just wait and get it from here ?
I paid 74$ for customs, yeah I know we have the most expensive customs in the world
vegetaleb wroteI paid 74$ for customs, yeah I know we have the most expensive customs in the world
Through the libanpost service ? Did that include the shipping at least ?

Download MSI afterburner and open it before you go in the game. Load the game and alt-tab periodically to check your CPU and GPU usage % in afterburner. If one of them is at 90-100%, then you got yourself the bottleneck. If none is at 90-100%, then it's a software issue, or maybe even a hardware issue too (not booting up on PCI-E slot 1 may be related :/) Just check for a bottleneck first, and if you don't have one then I think you have to do some serious troubleshooting.
@AVOlio: use gpu-z to find out whether your pci-e slot 2 is running @32x/16x or @ lower speeds "8x/4x"
Looks like mobo issue ... is there any new firmware update for it ?
My board is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H.
And according to the specs of it, I have only one pci express slot running at x16 which is the first one.
And the others are either x8 (the second) and x4.
And the gpu both worked on both slots except the primary x16 one.

@vegetaleb
I don't know what you mean to say with I told you so?
But I am pretty sure the card is being bottlenecked from the slots, that's why I haven't experienced it's full potential yet.

Anyway guys my pc is now with AvoK.
I'm sure he will up update us about what's the issue.
Guys what's the cheapest PSU that can power a single GTX 970?

Would the PSU included in this tower case "Cooler Master Elite 350 RC-350 Case RC-350-KKR500-GP w/ RS-500-PSAR-I3 500W PSU" be enough to power it along side an i5-4460?

The gtx 970 needs 145W and 30 amps, but with the system, the total would go around 270W.
Your psu deliver 500 watts with 70% efficiency and 38 amps on the 12V rails so it is enough
The RS-500-PSAR-I3 500W is an awesome PSU. It's just not as efficient as others. Due to it being old. I got clients running R9 280X's on it, and they run just fine (Ofc I would never recommend it for such a power hungry card)

I would always advise people to buy a new PSU later when they can.

Also @mmk2, Rule #1 in PC building is to never skimp on a PSU. Would you get a cheap heart? The PSU is responsible to give life to all your components. It better be good.

As for Avolio's rig:

Board supports 1x PCIEx16 3.0. The others are 2.0 and 1.1 x4 x8 slots. They're bottle-necking the card. At first I thought it was a BIOS issue. So I checked and nothing had anything to do with anything. After a whole day of diagnosing, yasamoka and me think it's because of how the board PCIE slot is designed. It has a raised lock for the slot which is interfering with the 980's back-plate and not letting the card to have proper contact with the lanes. It's working on the other slots because those pins which the card isn't fully being contact with don't exit.

I also tried it on my test board with Avolio's components on it, booted fine. I also tried it on my rig and it booted fine as well. So we can confirm that it's an issue of how the PCIE slot is designed. I could remove the back-plate of the card, but that would void the warranty.

I want to test the card with a PCIE riser on Avolio's current board in order to have a 100% confirmation.
