No thanks.. lol
95 C on quiet mode ? That's definitely the reference R9 290X. The Tri-X, Vapor-X, Double Dissipation, IceQ, Twin Frozr, TurboDuo, PCS+ and Windforce versions (so just about every R9 290X card apart from the Direct CUII version) are as cool and quiet as any Nvidia card.
95 C is actually a safe temp for a GPU. We just take 60s and 70s for granted these days.

hahahahahaha

I had 2 ref 290's when I used to mine crypto. At 100% load and 100% fan speed, I swear the noise level was so high a jackhammer's got nothing in comparison. Heck, it's even like you're sitting at the airport watching jets taking off :)
I wonder how are Nvidia still in business and how you people still buy their cards, I mean they don't give a fuck about the customer, they only care about money, they refuse to adopt open-source technologies that AMD adopts, like Freesync, Nvidia didn't want in because they had G-Sync which is way more expensive than Freesync, Freesync is available in nearly every monitor that has DisplayPort 1.2a while for G-Sync monitor companies will have to buy module from Nvidia and put them in the monitor. Nvidia always rigs benchmarks in their favor (GPUboss). Nvidia's GameWorks forces ISVs (independent software vendors) into contracts in which they must use code provided by Nvidia that hampers the performance of AMD hardware. AMD always gets criticized by customers for being good guys.

Battlefield 4 all maxed out with AA at 4K tops out at 3.4GB ram usage

RAM of VRAM? Either way, both can be possible
mmk92 wroteBattlefield 4 all maxed out with AA at 4K tops out at 3.4GB ram usage
Well try running Shadow of Mordor or the upcoming Witcher 3 with less than 4GB of VRAM
It's too soon to buy 4K TV that's all ;)
In 3 years Geforce cards will play heavy games on 4K with everything on Ultra ans MSAAx8 like it does with 1080p now, 4K TVs and monitors will cost 50% less.
Though many 2013-14 games are running at DSR 4K with everything at max without problem, only a very few games like FC4, ACU and Mordor are slow at 4K because of high Vram demands.
Unless you have the $$ for a 4K TV + GTX 980 with 8GB...
Does the GTX 980 have the same problem as the 970?
So a little update on my issue.
After updating the bios of my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H board to the latest.
And after updating also the vga bios of the 980 to F42.
Because it was not booting on my Gigabyte board since the beginning, I have been using the card on my brothers board which is an Intel Dh61ww, which the card was booting fine on it.
So after the bios update of both the Gigabyte board and the card, I tried them both together (Gigabyte board and 980) but with my brothers cpu which is an i7 2600. And it worked.
And I was so excited ,that it finally booted, and the problem was only outdated bios on both of them.
So I got to switching back everything, components of my system in my case, and the components of my bro in his case.
And when I finished my case build, with the i5 3570+GA-Z77X-D3H +980, I turned it on, but to my surprise, the pc was not booting from the card again.
I swore that just now, it worked and booted fine in the case of my brother with his cpu.
So I said let me give it a try, and I switched the cpus again.
And when u put the 2600,it worked.

The conclusion is, 980 is booting on my board with the i7 2600 cpu, but It will not boot with my i5 3570.

Doea anyone have an idea why is this happening?
@AVOlio: I think it's bios related, your board was unable to switch from pcie 2.0 "sandy bridge" to pcie3.0 "ivy bridge".

Try another ivy chip to confirm this.

PS. if there's a bios option to force always using pcie 2.0, enable it using sandy+980 then switch to ivy+980
Playing on ULTRA settings on my MSI gtx 970 gaming 4g, Shadow of mordor, Far cry 4, Watch dogs, AC Unity, COD Advanced warfare .. i never experienced any problem/lag/fps drops.
It is a gr8 VGA, it runs smoothly and quietly, but now that people know that there is something wrong with it, everyone suddenly is complaining and i think this is just a psychological issue.

Personally i am having a great experiance with my GtX 970, it is an amazing card playing everything at 1440p.
Now people have the right to complain about the issue, I know I am because I dont like to be lied to ( I still consider there is nothing wrong with it but nvidia should have managed the memory problem differently)
Anyway I would never think of returning it.

i'm having a great time with it too but i feel bad about falling in the marketing trap what if they'll switch it for 970 2nd gen with a fixed prob i would trade it for that
