vegetaleb wroteGood for you, but I won't get back an ATI card anymore, the noise sucks
I won't lie AMD's reference designs suck but that's something that will change in June, Captain Jack (codename for AMD's GTX 970 and 980 equivalent) is rumored to be water-cooled and has just slightly more power usage than the GTX 980. Also, AMD's board partners custom coolers, like the Tri-X and Vapor-X, are very quiet.
vegetaleb wrotethe driver support is horrible compared to Nvidia
When will you Nvidia fanboys stop using the same outdated reasons as to why AMD cards suck. Recently AMD's drivers have been on par and sometimes better than Nvidia's. Frankly, I never had any problems with AMD's drivers.
vegetaleb wroteWow!

And the Lebanese business complain about not selling eh?
^This. If we want fair prices in Lebanon, business shouldn't sell and news would spread, I really hope this escalates and everyone starts ordering original fair-priced parts from amazon through available drop services like "borderlinx", that is the only card that could motivate a change.

Through a closer inspect, I think hardware sellers in Lebanon just can't adapt or too inexperienced?

Customs are vague sometimes, despite that, PC stores in Lebanon are just unfamiliar, Lol if you asked about Samsung SSD he'd look to you in disapproval saying Samsung has an SSD? Worse, if you mention ASUS they're like "it's not a known brand no one buys ASUS", however, I noticed in the recent months that some are beginning to realize their's an ASUS rampage motherboard(mostly due to high demand), actually a bunch of 'stores' would have it although overpriced. whichever the case, they're still... far behind as always for sure.

This will change, well it must sooner or later, and if it doesn't, with the internet spreading at the current rate (that can't be measured but observed) they'll be out of business.
vegetaleb wroteIt's too soon to buy 4K TV that's all ;)
In 3 years Geforce cards will play heavy games on 4K with everything on Ultra ans MSAAx8 like it does with 1080p now, 4K TVs and monitors will cost 50% less.
In the same time AMD hardware will play heavy games on 3 4K monitors with everything on Extreme while Nvidia will still be stuck with 3.5GB of VRAM. ;)

This is a GTX 970 and 980 discussion, not a place to talk about your love for another brand, if you are so desperate to buy an amd card go and open a topic for that and be happy with your life but stop trying to flame this topic with your trollings
On topic:

what do you guys think about the 980 GTX ASUS version?

I have read:
Direct CU II with 0dB fan technology lets you enjoy light games in complete silence, and hardcore gaming 30% cooler with 3X-quieter performance!

Is that feature available only with ASUS?
I am not sure you can play games at 0db unless it's Chess and Solitaire, 0db is because Asus Strix and MSI Gaming series don't use the fan till the heat hit a minimum temp, meaning any 2013-2014-2015 games like FarCry3 and 4, Evil Within,COH 2...will heat the GPU and launch the fans.
0db is 99% of time using Windows (browsing,office...)

Amazing, after reading about some coil issues with ASUS 900 series, I'll go with MSI since it utilize quite fans too!
Do you recommend any GPU cooler (if it needs)?

btw, I'm switching from (geforce gt 220) into this beast, lol yea I'm that old!

actually you can do some light gaming like DOTA2 or LOL at 0db on the Asus Strix, the 960 can do the same too.

So a lawsuit is filled against NVidia for false advertisement for the GTX 970 Specs.

The GTX 970 does have 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM, but the fewer ROPs (56, as opposed to 64) and smaller L2 cache (1792kb as opposed to 2048kb) affect the way the card can access that last 500MB chunk of VRAM, which is 80% slower than the 3.5 GB Chunk causing some performance issues in some games.

Hopefully , for the long run it will not severely impact performance since upcoming games with their textures are starting to roll as a minimum ceiling of 4 GB of VRAM even on 1440p ; personally at 1080p will be persistent niche for the 970 and not more for the upcoming titles in the future for a smooth gameplay experience.
Battlefield 5 will be a good test, with BF4 everything on Ultra and 1440p DSR the game runs flawlessly at 60FPS, and I have a 1st gen i5!!
I think only very heavy 2015 games and 4K will have some lags, 1440p will still be good.
If you want to play 4K (DSR or not) with every possible games you should get a GTX 970 sli or simply a GTX 980
