I am having the strangest issue here
So I play battlefield 3 online , everything is normal , I join a game , the ping is perfect and then when I finish playing I exit and try to use the internet to open any website but I can't ! nothing opens as if the internet is disconnected but in the modem it says connected and if I did continue to play the game it wouldn't have disconnected , just when I am playing or when I exit (not sure when this does happen) no one can access the internet except for the game
is the game still running in the background when you exit ?
is the ping stable when you exit ?
are you on wireless or wired connection ?
do you have any QoS on the router ?
i have the same issue, i kinda learned to live with it.
i am not an expert in networking, but i read somewhere it is due to router overload.
one guy told me once that a gaming router fixed the issue.

The ping is stable as long as the game is running (in game)
Once I exit the game completly , I have to restart my modem to access internet again
I am on wireless with no QoS

Hmm that maybe makes sense since my router is a cheap Dlink
Next time you get disconnected, try removing the replugging your ethernet cable. If it works. Then you need to update your LAN drivers.

I am on wireless
what type of dlink ?
latest firmware ?
ping localhost during the down time and tell us what happen .
and the most obvious update your NIC drivers

run 2 machines together one with the game on and one with nothing ..and tell me if the ping disconnect on both or not ..we need to make sure if it's a router or client issue
