What about cheap Chinese-Korean brands of TVs in Lebanon?
Anyone tried?
-Hyundai
-TCL
-Haier
-Hisense
...

The shop I used to work at had Hisense, it's been running since 2007 no problem.
I recently bought a Hyundai 1080p 39" TV and seems great. However I've heard some really bad feedback about TCL and Telephunken TV's.
Don't expect them to have an image as good as a Sony or Samsung or an LG, most of these brands buy low quality panels from these manufacturers and that's why they have cheap TVs. However for an average TV, I would totally recommend the Hyundai. I got it for $295 from Spinneys, I really like the product considering it's under $300 for a 39" TV that has 2 USB inputs, 2HDMI inputs, surround support and that's 1080P.

I am searching for a 28 to 32'' for summer house, meaning 2 months per year so no need for a 500$ TV.
Connected to PC and Xbox 360 so it will need 2 HDMI
I have found a Hyundai 32'' with 2 HDMI, USB movie but 768p at 215$ at TSC
The Philips is at 279$ with the same specs (but perhaps better image quality).
If I can find a Hyundai 32'' FHD under 300$ it will be great!
Though who is the wakil in Lebanon?
I didn't find a website for FW upgrades!

Went to Abed Tahan today.
They don't have any 1080p in 32'', I think I will definitely take a 720p and the Philips is the best price/quality choice.
Now I am thinking about a monitor between 26 and 29'' , as monitors come in FHD or even 2560x1440!!
But in Lebanon the only place selling 27'' is Pcandparts and it's the very overpriced Viewsonic.
Do you know any shop that have big monitor (26 to 29'') ??

I went to TSC (Jnah) today, they have Hyundai 40" LED Full HD 1080 for 299$, you should check it out, here is the brochure I got from there, my niece was playing with it but you can still see the content:

I don't trust this brand as it looks like fake.
There is no website to support it nor FW updates.
My HTC TV app couldn't find any Hyundai TV listed in the remote control list though Vestel,Haier...are there,so I am afraid of this ghost brand

Alright, I just shared the above when I read this ;)

Yeah but after further search this brand is fake, they use perhaps panels from Hyundai but there is no TVs made by Hyundai nowadays, they stop producing 5 years ago, this looks like Chinese OEM made using a Hyundai panel.
There is a 40'' TCL FHD at Abed Tahan for 320$ and they can drop it to 300$ but I can't hear but bad things about TCL, CTC brought this brand 3 years ago but they stopped last year supposedly because of the defects.
Sony showroom will have new 2014 models this week.let's hope they will not play it like samsung (their new 32'' HD ready base model is at 390$ while it was 310$)
Little off topic: do you think we will have UHD 32'' TV in 2 years?

According to whom? where exactly? I was on the verge of buying an expensive Samsung, I needed a specific Bravia model that isn't available here yet!
vegetaleb
Well it's logic, new models always come in June, they had not a single 32'' so I asked why and the salesmen told me that new 2014 models are coming this week
h-s
Good, please notify me when they arrive.
vegetaleb
Samsung has a new 32'' but I think only HD ready.
Did you notice that only Middle East countries have no 1080p 32''?
Samsung took away Series 5 in Lebanon so you have either the 720p at 300$ or the series 7 with 3D and gimmicks at 750$

I did notice that, for some odd reason they're not available in the Middle East. There is the Samsung TV you recommended in the other thread, the F6400 which is series 6. However I will get the 40 inch version, in case the Bravia model doesn't arrive anytime soon, I will be getting it.
vegetaleb
Sony Lebanon is obliged to have their new stock asap, they just have 2 models left!
People are searching for TVs now as they want them for summer house,so if they don't bring new 32'' and 40'' they will lose lot of customers

I think for now my favorite is the LG 32LN5100, good price of 309$ (hoping to bargain 20$),input lag would be nice without being amazing 26ms I just have to be sure it's the same panel as the 32LN530B for that (my 4 years old sammy 32c530 is 11ms) but at least it has 2 HDMI and an audio output.
The Samsung 32EH4003 at 290$ got high scores with games in reviews but it only has 1 HDMI (can be corrected with a 10$ 1x3 HDMI switcher) BUT no audio output so you can't use external speakers at all (if using HDMI)
The Philips 32FPL3008 has all the same inputs/outputs as LG and cheaper but I have no clue at all about the input lag,so it could be an superb product for games as it could be a nightmare.
Will check the Toshiba 32'' and of course the Sony new models when they will be here.
Unfortunately there is no infos about input lag for Haier,TCL and Hisense, like for the Philips it can be a Loto paper
vegetaleb
Ok let's add the Toshiba Regza 32'' 32P2305.
Input Lag is about 28ms which is just 2ms more than the Samsung EH4003, but at least it has 2 HDMI and Audio Out and more image treatments.
Panel is Japanese if the salesman is right.
Price is 300$
Looks like a good budget gaming 32'' Led

This.

BenQ L32-5000:
3 HDMI
2 USB
32'' 768p
But I think it's 2011-2012 and no input lag infos.
Price is sweet 240$
I have till 7th July to choose, let's hope the Sony will be available too
28ms for the Toshiba is not too much when you know the fastest LED 32'' for the website
http://www.displaylag.com/ is 26ms (the sammy EH4003)
I forgot to say the Toshiba has a Game and PC modes
