No need for an adapter if you go for that model.
But then you said that for a multu-input model, its not worth getting the Qnix no? :P

Right then, the one I wanna get it this guy over here -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/27-QNIX-QX2710-Evolution-2-ll-2560x1440-WQHD-Samsung-PLS-Monitor-Matt-Screen-/130868312541 Correct?
(Shipping is not free btw, it costs 45$, but its ok)

And you're 100% right abwt the 77% increase in quality. I do think its substantial.
I said it's not worth getting the multi Qnix? I said consider other Koreans as well...

Most sellers offer free shipping to Lebanon. The one you linked to is single input too. Look a bit more closely.

Oh my bad.

Ah sorry, I was not aware that scrolling gives so much more info! Lol

So this would be the one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/QNIX-QX2710-LED-Evolution-ll-DP-Multi-Matte-2560x1440-27-SAMSUNG-PLS-Monitor-/111231287794?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item19e5e6c1f2
or this guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matte-27-QNIX-QX2710-DP-Multi-PLS-Panel-LED-2560x1440-HDMI-DP-DVI-D-Monitor-/131068281457?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item1e84474271

btw, @yasamoka, thanks for answering! :)

Alright so ended buying it. The display connects alright, but now i have a big issue; my mac book pro (not retina) does not provide me with a higher resolution than 1920 x 1080!

Does anyone know how I can fix that? Otherwise, I really don't see how I'd be using this as it is really terrible!
More details? What monitor? What model? If Korean, single- or multi- input? Which MacBook Pro? What Operating System? What cable? Any adapters?
Got the qnix --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/QNIX-QX2710-LED-Evolution-ll-DP-Multi-Matte-2560x1440-27-SAMSUNG-PLS-Monitor-/111231287794?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item19e5e6c1f2 (Multi-input)

MacBook Pro 13'' not retina.
Maverick 10.9.1
I have 3 adapters: Standard VGA, HDMI and a thing that hooks into the HDMI one that allows me to put Dual-DVI.
And of course, cables for all 3 sources of input (VGA, HDMI and Dual-DVI)

Tried all 3, they all work but they all max at 1900x
I guess that I need the Mini DP to Dual linkDVI (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-adapter?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY) I'm having a hard time finding it in beirut though. Gona try with a friend in Dubai.

I guess that after all, the multi-input doesnt make sense anwy cuz nothing but the Dual-DVI can get to 2500 px! :P
What? Wait.

What thing hooks into the HDMI and allows Dual-Link DVI? Can you be more specific? I don't know of any HDMI to dual-link DVI adapters in existence, HDMI doesn't work that way.

Are you meaning to tell me that you don't have mini DP in your laptop already, and you are converting from Dual-link DVI (which isn't there) to mini DP which you will plug into the monitor?

Or do you have a mini DP port? And if you do, why not use a mini DP to DP cable? (Hence the whole point of multi-input)

Hundreds and thousands are using the multi-input with anything other than dual-link DVI; so no, it's not pointless.
Yes, that would surely work. I mentioned multi-input precisely because it has DP. I don't care about HDMI and VGA, as those could not possibly push such a high resolution @ 60Hz in their current implementations.

pcandparts have a miniDP to DP if I'm not mistaken.

BTW, I have the same HDMI-DVI adapter as this. I'll test if it works, but I am sure it doesn't. HDMI cannot possibly be converted to dual-link DVI. The extra pins are useless.
I actually ran a search on pcandparts.. didnt find it. Tried calling their sales line no one picked up!

MiniDP to DP is def a much more cheaper option!
It's not only cheaper. It's what should be used.

Send pc&p an email, I'll take a look on their site now.

Hmm, I remembered I have an mDP to DP adapter that I'm not using. Want it? PM me.
