Not from ali but from japan, an item of mine arrived to airport in 7 days and got sent to distribution office same day(today), not handed to customs. Anyone had a similar experience?

I think it will be handed to customs when an item needs further inspection (like tech related stuff).
I got some books from amazon and they didn't pass through customs.

oh since you ordered mobile phone you need to clear customs. Call liban post and ask them what to do, never had to pay customs before. sorry.

Libanpost are slower and slower, it used to take 48h from airport to my home, now it's taking 2 weeks with libanpost alone, they are totally lazy. The time it takes fromchine to Beirut is not the problem anymore but it's libanpost.
It's a screen protector for my camera.

Not only walk, but go to MOT, wait for some days (in my case at least), the go pick a paper from MOT and take it to the airport again.

It was a long and humiliating process which is forbidding me from ordering any other phone from Aliexpress/online although I am intrigued by the OP6 or the xiaomi Mi8 etc...

Had this happen to me when I ordered the smallest helicopter you can imagine with 4 minutes flight time. They were afraid I can hook a camera to it and I had to wait for an "army specialist to check it".

Dude whenever you go to the airport for the second time to finish the procedure you will WALK and I really meant it. You will go from building to building and they forbid you from using your car even though there are parkings.

Anyways If you feel that it is not worth it try to tell them that this package is not for you and that it is a mistake and that they need to send it back to the sender. ( I don't think you need to pay at this point) And then you ask the seller for a refund minus the shipping price.

The MOT may not be open, so unless you are fine with waiting until Monday to do that (with eid just on the horizon), then go ahead. Just find a decent time you can go during lunch or early in the am, and get it done on or before Friday. The paper from the MOT take 2 to 3 days, so you may be cutting close with a holiday around the corner.
