  • Few questions regarding shipping

Hello guys, I know that there are many topics here concerning shipping, but I still have few questions and would appreciate little help.
Here are my questions:
1- I just checked one of the articles, and it stated that usps took $20 disturbment fees, are these handling fees?
2- Borderlinx website shows 0% duty fees on video games and consoles while customs website do show fees? Are the customs + vat fees around 15%?
3- If I own a shop, am I allowed to ship like 50 PS3? Will customs allow it or stop it? And will duty and tax fees remain the same?
4- Did anyone try play-asia free shipping? How many days do airmail need to arrive? And what about customs?
3- As long as the shipment is done in the name of the store, then it should be allowed but you must declare it and pay the appropriate custom fees
Importing PS3 legally is not permitted anymore. Fattal got exclusive dibs last year. They're the sole distributors of PS3 consoles, accessories and games. So, importing in large quantities is not possible anymore. You can order one piece at a time though. The videogames themselves are tax free most of the time, sometimes they get taxed for no apparent reasons. The consoles are subject to taxes though.

Play-asia.com takes around 4-5 weeks to ship.

Does the shop/store name need to be registered in CCIB? Also, can't the shipping company declare it like Aramex/Borderlinx?
And last concerning custom fees, do they remain the same per item?

Are you sure?
How about Sony Lebanon? Nino? Virgin? many others...
Concerning video games taxes, customs website states 5% and borderlinx calculator states 0%, so it is really confusing.
Yes, I'm sure. Sony Lebanon and Virgin both get their merchandise from Fattal (Sony Lebanon belongs to Fattal by the way).
Hey guys, out of the topic question, But since all similar threads have been closed, i have to ask.
Apparently Amazon US, ships to Lebanon / Middle East.

So why bother with all of this Aramex , Borderlinx .... stuff?

Or am i missing something ?
They only ship books and CDs. Everything else is only available to users in Saudi Arabia.

@samer
Weird how almost all kinds of product types are mentioned such as,
Automotive, Baby, Computers, Electronics, Home, Luggage, Personal Care, Kitchen, Outdoor Living, Sports, Tools, Toys ..
Also Lebanon is in the included countries :s

The least they can do is post on the site that only Books and CDs just are for Lebanon.

Is Priority Courier Shipping also not available for Lebanon? I don't see ** (for Saudi Arabia only) in that list like the ** in the Standard Shipping and Expedited Shipping.
@Samer, the admin, are you saying Amazon only ships books and CDs to Lebanon? Not other merchandise? Just trying to catch up.

Video games and consoles can't be shipped directly to Lebanon.
That was the case last time I checked. I'm fairly sure they don't ship electronics.

You don't have to be registered in the CCIB, but you have to have a إذاعة تجارية and VAT number.
No, shipping companies will ship it then inform you that you have to release it from customs (you need a مخلص جمركي).
The custom fees depend on the value of the products shipped rather than anything else (usually we pay 10% for medical products, don't know about PS3s though)
